The Pitchers

Dartmouth will have a young pitching staff this season, as only two pitchers on the roster – senior RHP Michael Johnson and junior LHP Kyle Hunter – have significant collegiate experience. Johnson has made 19 starts in his career and Hunter has made 16, but the rest of the staff will be looking to make an impact in their first year with the team.

The Catchers

The Dartmouth baseball team has several talented catchers on its roster this year. Head coach Bob Whalen is excited about the depth and skill of his catching corps, and he believes that they will be a big part of the team’s success this season.

The starting catcher for Dartmouth will be senior captain Alex Greenberg. Greenberg is a four-year starter who has been a mainstay behind the plate for the Big Green He is a good leader and an excellent defensive catcher, and he also has a strong arm. He will be counted on to provide a steady presence for the pitching staff this season.

Greenberg will be backed up by sophomore Sawyer Billings, who is also an excellent defensive catcher. Billings did not see much action last season, but he is a talented player who has impressed the coaching staff with his progress this offseason. He will be a valuable asset for Dartmouth off the bench this year.

Another player to keep an eye on is freshman Matt Flaherty, who will also be serving as a backup catcher this season. Flaherty is a tall, athletic player with good catch-and-throw skills. He still needs to develop his hitting, but he has the potential to be a very good player for Dartmouth in the future.
