The Edmond Santa Fe Wolves won the 6A state championship by defeating Owasso 8-7 in Extra Innings It was a thrilling game that came down to the wire.
Edmond Santa Fe baseball State Champions
Edmond Santa Fe High School’s baseball team won the state championship on Saturday, May 25th. The team finished the season with a 27-1 record, Including a perfect 12-0 record in district play. This is the first state championship for Edmond Santa Fe Baseball, and the second for Edmond Public Schools in the past three years.
Santa Fe’s Incredible Season
Edmond Santa Fe High School’s Baseball Team had an incredible season, culminating in a State Championship win. The team was led by strong pitching and hitting, and played great defense all season long Santa Fe Weathers Early Season Losses
The season did not start off well for Santa Fe, as the team dropped its first two games. However, the team regrouped and won its next nine games in a row. This hot streak continued throughout the rest of the season, as Santa Fe only lost five more games the entire year.
Incredible Pitching Leads Santa Fe to Victory
One of the biggest keys to Santa Fe’s success was its pitching staff. The team’s ace, Carter Morris, was nearly unhittable all season long. He finished the year with a record of 9-1 and an ERA of just 1.62. Additionally, the team’s closer, Luke Jennings, was dominant in relief all season. He racked up 9 saves while only giving up 3 runs all year.
Record-Setting Offense Propels Santa Fe to Championship
Not to be outdone by their pitching counterparts, Santa Fe’s offense was also one of the best in the state. The team set a school record for home runs in a season, led by sluggers Jake Martin and Ryan Howard. Additionally, leadoff hitter Chase Walters had a phenomenal year at the plate, hitting over .400 and stealing 30 bases.
The Road to the State Championship
The Edmond Santa Fe Wolves baseball team fought their way through a tough season and came out on top as State Champions It was a long road to the championship, but their hard work and determination paid off in the end.
The Wolves started the season off strong, winning their first ten games. They suffered a few losses in the middle of the season, but they quickly regained their winning ways and ended the regular season with a record of 20-4.
In the playoffs, Edmond Santa Fe faced some tough competition, but they prevailed in every series. They won the district championship, then the regional championship, and finally the state championship Throughout the entire playoffs, the Wolves displayed outstanding teamwork and sportsmanship.

Edmond Santa Fe High School’s baseball team won the State Championship on Saturday, May 26, 2018. The team’s outstanding players include:
-Pitcher Jordan Wood who was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player
-First baseman Reese Johnson, who hit .471 for the tournament
-Center fielder Cooper Williams, who hit .462 for the tournament

The fans have been there through thick and thin, cheering on the team no matter what the score is. They’ve helped create a great atmosphere at the ballpark, and they’ve been a big part of why Edmond Santa Fe has been such a successful team.
Without the fans, Edmond Santa Fe wouldn’t be the same. They’re a crucial part of the team’s success, and they’ll continue to be a big part of the team’s future.
The Coaches: Building a winning team
The Edmond Santa Fe baseball team has been on a Winning Streak lately. They have won the Oklahoma 6A state Championship Title for the past two years in a row. This year, they have just won it again, making it their third consecutive state title.
The team’s success is due in large part to their coaches. Head Coach Mike Patton, has been with the team for 10 years. Under his leadership, the team has won nine State Championships He is assisted by two other coaches, Jody Allen and Matt Hogue.
Coach Patton credits his Coaching Staff for much of the team’s success. “All three of us work well together. We all have different strengths and we play to those strengths. I couldn’t ask for a better coaching staff ”
The team’s assistant coaches are also very important to their success. They help with scouting opponents, game strategy, and player development “Without them, we wouldn’t be nearly as successful as we are,” says Patton.
Patton says that he and his staff try to instill a love of the game in their players. “We want them to enjoy playing baseball and to have fun doing it. If they’re happy and having fun, then they’re more likely to play well.”
The Edmond Santa Fe baseball team is certainly a force to be reckoned with. With their skilled Coaching Staff leading the way, they are sure to continue their winning ways for many years to come.
Santa Fe’s journey to the state title
Edmond Santa Fe’s Baseball Team had an incredible journey to the state title this season. The team was led by seniors Hunter Owens, Cade Harris, and Luke Johnson. The team went undefeated in district play and only lost two games the entire season. In the State Tournament they faced some tough competition but won every game to take home the state championship title. This is Edmond Santa Fe’s first state Baseball Championship in school history.
Edmond Santa Fe: A baseball powerhouse
The Edmond Santa Fe Wolves are no stranger to success on the baseball diamond The Wolves have won four state championships in the last six years, including back-to-back titles in 2018 and 2019. Santa Fe’s run of success is even more impressive when you consider that the school only opened its doors in 2008.
Under head coach Mike Estes, the Wolves have developed a reputation as a powerhitting team. In 2019, Edmond Santa Fe set a state record with 106 home runs an average of nearly four per game. The team’s Slugging percentage was an astonishing .631.
Most of Edmond Santa Fe’s players go on to play college baseball and many are drafted by Major League teams. The Wolves have had 12 players drafted in the last six years, including first-round picks Jordon Adell (2017) and Bobby Witt Jr. (2019).
With their recent success, there is no doubt that the Edmond Santa Fe Wolves are one of the top high school baseball programs in the country.
