The Lec baseball season is finally here! We can’t wait to see what our favorite teams are made of this year. Be sure to follow our blog for all the latest news and updates.
Introducing the League
Welcome to the LEC baseball season! We are excited to introduce the league and its new format. This season, we have six teams competing in a double round-robin format. The top four teams will advance to the playoffs, which will be held at the end of the season.
We have some great matchups lined up for this season, so be sure to check out the schedule. Thanks for supporting LEC baseball!
The Teams
The teams this year are the LEC Tigers, LEC Wildcats, LEC Lions, and LEC Cougars.
The Tiger’s are looking to have a great season this year after last year’s devastating end. The team has been working hard in the off-season and they are determined to make it to the Championship game this year.
The Wildcat’s also had a disappointing end to their season last year and they are looking to make a comeback this year. The team is extremely talented and they have beenworking hard to perfect their skills.
The Lion’s had a successful season last year and they are looking to repeat their performance this year. The team is very cohesive and they work well together on the field.
The Cougar’s are a new team to the league this year and they are looking to make a name for themselves. The team is very young but they have a lot of potential.
The Schedule
The Lec baseball season is upon us, and we could not be more excited! Here is the schedule for the upcoming season
April 6th: Opening Day! We will be playing the Atlanta Braves at home.
April 7th: We will be playing the Atlanta Braves away.
April 8th: We will be playing the New York Mets at home.
April 9th: We will be playing the New York Mets away.
The Players
This season, the Lec baseball team is looking to build on their success from last year. The team is led by a group of experienced and talented players. Here is a look at some of the key members of the team:
Pitcher Jameson Taillon is entering his third season with the team. He had a strong year last year, posting a record of 10-5 with an ERA of 3.48. He will be looking to build on that success this season.
Catcher Francisco Cervelli is another key player for the team. He is a veteran leader who provides a steadying presence behind the plate. He is also an excellent hitter, batting .295 last season with four home runs and 37 RBIs.
Infielder Josh Bell is one of the team’s best power hitters Last year, he hit 26 home runs and drove in 90 runs. He will be looking to build on those numbers this season and help the team compete for a championship.
Outfielder Austin Meadows is a young player who is expected to have a big impact this season. He is a talented hitter with speed and power. he also has the ability to play all three field positions well.

The Ballparks
The minor league season is upon us, and that means it’s time to start planning your trips to the ballpark! Here is a guide to some of the best Minor League parks in the country:
1. PNC Field, home of the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (Triple-A, New York Yankees): PNC Field is widely considered one of the best Triple-A parks in the country. It’s got a great view of downtown Scranton, and there’s plenty of room to roam around the concourse.
2. BB&T Ballpark, home of the Charlotte Knights (Triple-A, Chicago White Sox): The Charlotte Knights moved into their new ballpark in 2014, and it instantly became one of the best places to watch a minor league game. It’s got a great view of uptown Charlotte, and there are plenty of restaurants and bars nearby for pre- or post-game fun.
3. Coca-Cola Field, home of the Buffalo Bisons (Triple-A, Toronto Blue Jays): Coca-Cola Field is another great Triple-A park that offers a great view of downtown Buffalo. The concourse is open and airy, and there are numerous food options available.

Gwinnett Stadium, home of the Gwinnett Braves (Triple-A, Atlanta Braves): Gwinnett Stadium is a great option for fans who want to watch some minor League Baseball but don’t want to deal with the traffic and crowds of downtown Atlanta. The stadium is clean and modern, and there are plenty of food options available.
5. Reno Aces Ballpark, home of the Reno Aces (Triple-A, Arizona Diamondbacks): Reno Aces Ballpark is one of the best places to watch a Minor League game if you’re looking for an intimate setting. The park seats just over 9,000 people, so you’ll never feel crowded or cramped.
The History
The Lecanto high school baseball team is set to begin their season this month and we’re here to give you a little history on the program!
Lecanto High School’s baseball program began in 1992. The very first game in school history was against Citrus High School on February 25th. The Panthers would go on to win that game by a score of 8-4.
Since then, the Panthers have made the playoffs 10 times in school history including two trips to the regional finals. They have also won 7 district championships.
The Panthers will look to build on their success from last season where they went 18-9 overall and 9-3 in district play. They will have a new Head Coach this season, but he is very familiar with the program as he was an Assistant Coach last year.

The Rivalries
The Lexington high school Blue Devils and the Concord-Carlisle Patriots have a longstanding Baseball Rivalry The two teams first played each other in 1885, and the rivalry is one of the oldest in American high school sports. The two teams have played each other nearly 200 times since then, with Lexington winning 106 of those games.
The rivalry between the two teams is intense, and both sets of fans are passionate about their team. The atmosphere at the games is electric, and it’s not uncommon for fights to break out between fans.
During the regular season the two teams usually play each other twice. But if they happen to meet in the playoffs, all bets are off. The stakes are higher, and the fans are even more charged up.
