The team’s captain, senior shortstop Matt Douglas, is a four-year varsity player who has been a key contributor since his freshman year. Right field is manned by senior Timmy O’Neill, who was voted by his teammates as this year’s most Valuable Player O’Neill does it all for New Trier, hitting for average (.345), hitting for power (6 HR), playing solid defense and providing leadership both on and off the field. O’Neill will be attending Northwestern University next fall on a baseball scholarship but will also have an opportunity to play football for the Wildcats if he so chooses.

Haas had a breakout season this year, going 6-1 with a 1 NULL .61 ERA while striking out 65 batters in 57 innings pitched NULL .
