Tj White was born in 1993 in Atlanta, Georgia. He played his first Game of Baseball at the age of four and he knew from then on that he wanted to be a professional player. White worked hard all through his school years, playing for his High School team and also for various youth league and travel teams. In 2011, he was drafted by the Miami Marlins in the 33rd round of the MLB draft
White chose not to sign with the Marlins and instead went to college, where he played for Liberty University After two years at Liberty, White transferred to Chattahoochee Valley Community College In 2014, he was drafted by the Kansas City Royals in the 17th round of the MLB Draft He finally decided to sign with a team and start his professional career.
White made his professional debut with the Royals’ rookie-level affiliate, the Idaho Falls Chukars, in 2014. He played relatively well but didn’t really stand out from the rest of the players. The following year, he was promoted to the Low-A Lexington Legends. This is where White really started to shine; he had a batting average of .302 and an on-base percentage of .394, both of which were career-highs up to that point. He also hit 11 homeruns and stole 23 bases.

In 2011, he played for the Augusta Greenjackets of the Class A South Atlantic League and the San Jose Giants of the Class A-Advanced California League, hitting a combined .291/.348/.422 with 10 home runs and 62 RBIs in 123 games. White spent 2012 with the Richmond Flying Squirrels of the Double-A Eastern League playing in 133 games and hitting .253/.327/.402 with 11 home runs and 54 RBIs.
The 2013 season saw him return to Richmond, where he played in 134 games and hit .264/.329/.427 with 17 Home Runs and 68 RBIs. He began 2014 back with Richmond, but was promoted to the Triple-A Fresno Grizzlies of the Pacific Coast League during the season. In 126 games between Richmond and Fresno, he hit a combined .288/.347/.452 with 12 home runs and 69 RBIs.
White started 2015 back with Fresno, but was traded to the Baltimore Orioles on June 3 as part of a deal that sent Gerardo Parra to the Giants. He finished out the season playing for three different Orioles’ affiliates -the Bowie Baysox of the Double-A Eastern League Norfolk Tides of Triple-A National League and Frederick Keys of Class A-Advanced Carolina League – batting a combined .276/.327/.432 with 12 home runs and 58 RBIs in 125 games between all three teams.
