Wright State University (WSUC) (est. 1964) is a public research university in Fairborn, Ohio, a suburb of Dayton. It is part of the Greater Dayton metropolitan area The university comprises eight colleges: Business, Education and Human Services, Engineering and Computer Science, Liberal Arts, Nursing and Health, Professional Psychology and Family Therapy, Science and Mathematics, Graduate School, and the Boonshoft School of Medicine.
The school mascot is the Raider and the school colors are green and gold. The Raiders compete at the NCAA Division I level as members of the Horizon League The baseball team has had 14 winning seasons in its history including 10 seasons with 30 or more wins. They have appeared in the NCAA Division II World Series four times with their most recent appearance coming in 2007. Their best finish was as national runners-up in 1986.

Hollod. Both Giese and Hollod are entering their second season with the Raiders. Giese played professional baseball for 13 years, including parts of six seasons in Major League Baseball with the San Francisco Giants New York Yankees Chicago White Sox and Milwaukee Brewers Hollod played collegiately at Wright State from 2007-2010 and was a member of the 2010 Horizon League Championship team.
