The BYU Women’s basketball team is gearing up for another exciting season! Here’s a look at some of the key games on their schedule.
Game 1: BYU vs. Southern Utah
The BYU women’s Basketball team will open its 2017-18 Season at home against Southern Utah on Nov. 10. The game will tip off at 7 p.m. MST and will be broadcast live on BYUtv.
This will be the first meeting between the two teams since Nov. 15, 2014, when BYU defeated Southern Utah 83-52 in Provo. The Cougars are 4-0 all-time against the Thunderbirds, with the most recent matchup being a 66-57 victory in Cedar City during the 2013-14 season.
BYU enters the 2017-18 season coming off one of its most successful campaigns in program history. The Cougars finished 27-7 overall and 14-4 in West Coast conference play en route to their second consecutive WCC regular season championship. BYU also made its second consecutive NCAA tournament appearance and its fifth overall, advancing to the Second Round before falling to eventual national runner-up University of South Carolina
Game 2: BYU vs. Weber State
The BYU Cougars women’s basketball team will play the Weber State Wildcats on December 11th at 7:00 PM in the Marriott Center. The game will be broadcast live on BYUtv.
The Cougars are coming off of a tough loss to in-state rival Utah, while the Wildcats defeated Idaho State in their season opener This will be the first meeting between the two programs since 2016, when BYU won 92-64.
The Wildcats are led by senior guard Bailee Cowley, who averaged 16.4 points per game last season. Cowley will be a tough matchup for the BYU defense, which struggled against Utah’s shooters. The Cougars will need to find a way to slow down Cowley if they want to come away with a win.

The fifth game on the BYU Womens Basketball Schedule is a matchup against Northern Arizona This will be the first meeting between the two schools. The game will be played on Saturday, November 17th at 2:00 PM MST in the Marriott Center.
Game 6: BYU vs. Portland State
The BYU Womens basketball team will take on Portland State on December 21st at 2 pm MST. This will be the 6th game of the season for both teams. BYU is currently 4-1, with their only loss coming from a close game against Utah State Portland State is 3-2, with losses to PAC 12 opponents Oregon State and Washington.
This will be the first time these two teams have played each other in Womens Basketball BYU is coming off of a win against in-state rival Utah, while Portland State is coming off of a loss to Washington. Both teams will be looking to Bounce Back with a win in this game.

The BYU women’s basketball team is set to take on the Sacramento State Hornets on December 7th, 2017. This will be the seventh game of the season for both teams. The Hornets are currently 3-3, with their most recent game resulting in a loss to the University of Nevada – Reno. BYU is currently 5-1, with their most recent game resulting in a win against the University of Utah This game against Sacramento State will be a good test for the Cougars, as they look to maintain their winning record.
Game 8: BYU vs. Eastern Washington
The eighth game of the season for the BYU women’s basketball team will be against Eastern Washington on December 11th. This will be the first time these two teams have faced off against each other.
Eastern Washington is currently ranked number one in the Big Sky Conference with a perfect 4-0 record. The team is led by senior guard Delaney Hodgins, who is averaging 21 points per game Hodgins is a two-time Big Sky Player of the Year and was recently named to the preseason all-conference team. Other Key Players for Eastern Washington include junior forward Venky Jois and senior guard Felix Von Hofe. Jois is averaging a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds per game while Von Hofe is averaging 12 points per game.
The Brigham Young University Cougars are off to a strong start this season, with a 5-2 record. The Cougars are coming off of two big wins, against in-state rivals Weber State and Utah State BYU is led by junior guard Cassie Broadhead, who is averaging 15 points per game. Other key players include freshman forward Yoeli Childs and sophomore guard Brenna Chase. Childs is averaging a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds per game while Chase is averaging 11 points per game.
This will be an exciting match-up between two evenly matched teams. Both BYU and Eastern Washington have strong offensive players that could take over the game at any time. One of the best things about BYU Women’s Basketball is that they always play tough competition. In game nine of their season, they take on the Northern Colorado Bears. The Bears are currently ranked number three in the Mountain West Conference and are coming off of a loss to the number one team in the conference, Boise State This game will be a good test for the BYU Women’s basketball team as they continue their conference play.
Game 10: BYU vs. Idaho
The BYU Womens Basketball team will take on the Idaho Vandals on December 10th, 2017. This will be the first time these two teams have faced each other in over three years. The last meeting between the two schools was on December 8th, 2014, where BYU won by a score of 71-66. The Vandals are currently 6-3 on the season and are coming off of a loss to Oregon State BYU is 8-1 on the season and is coming off of a win against Weber State
