Abington Basketball – Introduction
The Abington High School boys basketball team is the Basketball team that represents Abington School District in Abington, Pennsylvania. The team competes in the Class AAAA division of the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA). They are currently a member of District One and the Suburban One League National Conference. The Ghosts have won one state championship in 1977. They have also won 17 district championships and 13 league championships. The team has been coached by Jerry Finoli since 2006.
Abington Basketball – The Team
The Abington boys basketball team is a district and state powerhouse. The team has won the district title five times in the last six years and made it to the state semifinals three times in that span. The Ghosts have also been ranked in the top 10 of the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association’s media poll for much of the last decade.
Abington Basketball – The Coach
In 2002, Coach Charles “Chuck” Moore took over the Abington high school boys’ Basketball Program Since then, his teams have won eight district championships, four State Championships and he has been named “Coach of the Year” four times. In 2009, he was inducted into the Pennsylvania Basketball Hall of Fame He is also a member of the Montgomery County Coaches Hall of Fame

Abington Basketball – The Fans
TheAbbey is a local newspaper serving the Abington area. The basketball team has a very loyal and spirited fan base, as evidenced by the large number of comments on The Abbey’s online stories and forums. In 2017, the boys’ basketball team won the state championship and the girls’ team made it to the semifinals.

Abington Basketball – The Rival is a state Boys Basketball media district in Montgomery,Sol. Liberty Athletics.
Abington Basketball – The Game
The Abington Varsity Basketball team has a game against state rival Pennridge on Friday, February 28th. The game will be broadcast on the Abington School District media outlets, and will also be available for live streaming on the district website. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00pm.
This is the first meeting between the two teams this season, and both are eager to get a win. Abington is coming off a tough loss to Sol Liberty in the district semifinals, while Pennridge defeated Montgomery in their last game.
Abington is led by senior guard Jaden Jones, who is averaging 15 points per game Jones is a two-time all-state selection and was named the district MVP last season. He will be joined in the backcourt by junior Marcus route, who is averaging 12 points per game
In the frontcourt, Abington will look to senior forward Ryan Hilliard and junior center Robert Smith. Hilliard is averaging 10 points and eight rebounds per game while Smith is averaging nine points and six rebounds per game

Abington Basketball – The Season
The Abington high school boys basketball team is having a great season! They are currently ranked number one in the state and are undefeated in district play. The team is led by senior point guard Sol Liberty, who is averaging 18 points and 8 assists per game
The media has been following the team closely all season, and there is a lot of excitement surrounding their quest for a state championship The community has really rallied behind the team, and the atmosphere at their games is electric.
This is a great season for Abington Athletics, and we are all rooting for the boys basketball team to bring home a state championship!
Abington Basketball – The History
Abington high school is a public high school located in Abington, Pennsylvania, United States It is the only high school in the Abington School District. Abington high school enrolls students in grades 9 through 12 and is a part of the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association. The school’s colors are green and white and its mascot is the Galloping Ghost.
Abington High School has a rich tradition in athletics. The boys’ Basketball team has won ten district championships and two state championships in 1992 and 1994. The girls’ Basketball Team has won five district championships. In addition, the boys’ track and field team has won four district championships and one State Championship in 2006. The girls’ track and field team has won two district championships.
The school’s newspaper is The Ghostwriter and its yearbook is The Highlander.
Abington Basketball – The Future
The Abington Boys Basketball team has had a great season so far, with a current record of 13-3. They have talented players, a Good Coach and a supportive community. The team is led by Senior Captain Sol Montague, who has been starting for the team since his freshman year. He is a versatile player who can shoot, pass, and rebound well. The other starters are Junior point guard Max Harris, Senior shooting guard Andre Owens, and Junior center Eli Johnson. These four players have been starting together for the past two years and have developed great chemistry on the court.
The teams biggest rival is Liberty High School which is in the same district. The two teams have been playing each other for over 50 years and the games are always close. This year, Abington won both games against Liberty by a margin of less than 5 points.
Abington has a lot of fans and gets good coverage in the local media. The community comes out to support the team at home games and travel to away games when they can. Athletics are important at Abington high school and the boys Basketball team is one of the most successful teams in recent years
The future looks bright for Abington Basketball. With a core group of talented players returning next year, they have a good chance of making a run at the State Championships
