The 2020-21 ACC Basketball Schedule Top 5 Storylines

It’s official: the 2020-21 ACC Basketball schedule is here. After a tumultuous offseason that saw the NCAA first cancel the 2020 postseason tournament and then reinstate it, the College Basketball world can finally look ahead to the new season.

The schedule release is always an exciting time for College Basketball fans, as it allows them to start planning for the season ahead. But with so many games and so many teams, it can be tough to know where to start. That’s where we come in.

Here are the top 5 storylines of the 2020-21 ACC Basketball Schedule

1) Duke vs. Kentucky in Lexington on December 4th: This is one of the marquee non-conference games of the entire season, as two of college basketball’s Blue Blood programs will face off against each other.

2) Florida State vs. Gonzaga in Spokane on December 5th: This game will be a real litmus test for both teams. Florida State is a perennial ACC power, but they have never really been tested by a non-conference opponent like Gonzaga. Likewise, Gonzaga has established themselves as one of the best teams in the country, but they have yet to play a team from a power conference like Florida State

3) Virginia vs. Villanova in Philadelphia on December 7th: Another huge non-conference matchup, this game will pit last year’s National Champion Virginia Cavaliers against one of the perennial powerhouses in Villanova.

4) UNC vs. Iowa in Chapel Hill on December 10th: This game has “upset alert” written all over it. UNC is coming off a disappointing 2019-20 season and they will be looking to prove doubters wrong this year. Meanwhile, Iowa is a very good team that will be looking to make a statement on the road against a big name opponent.

5) Louisville vs Kentucky in Louisville on December 26th: These two rivals always bring out the best in each other and this game should be no different. Louisville has won four straight against Kentucky, but Kentucky will be looking to end that streak this year.
