UNR got on the board first in the top of the second when Austin Shenton blasted a two-run homer over the left field wall, giving the Wolf Pack a 2-0 advantage. UC Davis answered back in the bottom half of the inning when freshman third baseman Jake Jeffrey led off with a solo home run to right field, cutting Nevada’s lead in half.

The Wolf Pack added to their lead with a run in the top of the fourth, but Jeffrey struck again with his second home run of the game, this one a two-run shot that tied it up at 3-3. Unfortunately for UC Davis, that would be as close as they would get as Nevada scored six unanswered runs over the final five innings to secure the 9-3 victory.
