The Army Baseball Team has announced its roster for the upcoming season The team will feature 20 players, including 12 returners from last year’s squad. The roster includes seven seniors, six juniors, five sophomores, and two freshmen.

Army Baseball Standings

The Army West Point Baseball team announced its roster for the upcoming season The Black Knights will have 34 players on the roster, including 27 freshmen and seven sophomores.

The team will be led by senior captain Kevin McKague. The shortstop was named a preseason All-American by perfect game and D1Baseball.com and is coming off a junior season in which he batted .351 with 13 home runs and 54 RBIs.

Junior second baseman Anthony Giachin and sophomore outfielder Justin Schiffer are also returning starters from last year’s team. Giachin batted .305 with 11 homers and 42 RBIs last season, while Schiffer was second on the team in batting average (.386) and first in stolen bases (17).

The team is led by senior captain Michael Ruiz, who has been a starting pitcher for the past three seasons. Other key members of the team include junior first baseman/outfielder Justin Flint, who was recently named to the Preseason All-American Team and sophomore second baseman Nolan Smith who was named the Patriot League Rookie of the Year last season. With a core group of experienced players, the Army baseball team is looking to make a run at the Patriot League title this season.

Army Baseball Coaches

The Army baseball team has announced its Coaching Staff for the upcoming season Head Coach Paul Bunnell will be entering his 12th season at the helm of the program, and he will be joined by assistant coaches Corey Dobson and Alex Crown.

Bunnell has led the Black Knights to nine winning seasons and four berths in the Patriot League Tournament, including a trip to the Championship game in 2015. He has also been named the Patriot League Coach of the Year three times.

Dobson is entering his first season on the Army coaching staff after spending the previous two years as an Assistant Coach at Stony Brook University. During his time with the Seawolves, Dobson helped guide the team to back-to-back appearances in the America East Tournament.

Crown is also entering his first season on the Army Coaching Staff He comes to West Point after spending four years as an assistant coach at his alma mater, Marist College. During his time with the Red Foxes Crown helped guide the team to three straight appearances in the Metro Atlantic Athletic conference tournament

The Army Baseball Team has announced its roster for the upcoming season which includes a number of alumni. The team will open its season on February 15th against Navy.

Army Baseball Tickets

Army baseball will feature a young but experienced roster in 2019 as the Black Knights return 21 players from last year’s team. Thirteen of those 21 are upperclassmen, including eight who have starting experience. Leading the way for Army are two preseason all-conference selections in senior first baseman Jacob Hurtubise and junior outfielder Daniel Joseph.

Army will open its 2019 campaign on Feb. 15 with a three-game series at UNLV before returning to West Point for its home opener against Rider on Feb. 22. The Black Knights will then hit the road for marquee non-conference tilts against Oklahoma (Mar. 1-3), Southern Miss (Mar. 5-7) and Arkansas (Mar. 8-10) before opening up Patriot League play at home against Bucknell on Mar. 15-17
