The Blair Basketball Team
The Blair basketball team is a cut above the rest. With a record of 27-0, they are the only undefeated team in the state of Maryland and are ranked in the top 25 in the nation.
The team is led by senior captain Jai’den Smith, who is averaging 22 points per game 6 rebounds per game and 4 assists per game Smith is a Standout Player who has verbally committed to play basketball at The University of Maryland where he will be joining former Blair teammate Makhi Mitchell.
The rest of the team is equally talented, with four players averaging double digits in points andjunior forward Jakobi Meants leading the team in rebounding with 8 per game. The team’s success can also be attributed to their deep bench, which allows them to maintain a high level of play even when starters are resting.
This season has been an incredible ride for the Blair basketball team and their devoted fans. With their sights set on a state championship there is no doubt that this team is a cut above the rest.
The Blair Basketball Schedule
The Blair Basketball Schedule has been announced and it looks to be a tough one. The Blazers will face off against some of the best teams in the state, including DeMatha, Good Counsel and St. John’s. With a difficult schedule comes great opportunity, and the team is looking to take advantage of every chance they get to prove themselves.
The Blair Basketball Roster
The winter Basketball season is in Full Swing and the Blair Blazers are looking better than ever. Head Coach Trey Hill has put together a strong roster of players that are working hard to make a run at the state championship Let’s take a look at the team:
Starting at point guard is senior captain Jenna Brooks. Jenna is a four-year varsity player and one of the best Defensive Players in the county. Her leadership will be crucial for the Blazers as they look to make a deep postseason run.
Next up is shooting guard Rachel Johnson. Rachel is a sharpshooter from beyond the arc and an excellent defender. She provides a great complement to Jenna on the court, and the two have developed great chemistry over their four years playing together.
At small forward we have sophomore Emily Nguyen. Emily is one of the most versatile players on the team, and she can score in a variety of ways. She’s also an outstanding rebounder for her size. Emily has been a key contributor since she joined the varsity team as a freshman, and she’ll be looked to for even more production this season.
The Power Forward spot belongs to junior Valerie Foster. Valerie is one of the strongest players on the team, and she’s not afraid to mix it up down low with bigger opponents. She’s also a very good free throw shooter, which will come in handy late in games.
And finally, we have senior center Indie Singh Anchalayudh. Indie is our tallest player and an excellent shot blocker. She doesn’t score much, but she does a great job of protecting the paint and rebounding miss shots. Indie is another player who has been with the program for four years and will be counted on to provide leadership in big moments this season.
The Blazers have high hopes for this season, and with this talented roster, they definitely have what it takes to make a run at the state title!
The Blair Basketball Game
The Blair basketball game is a student-run activity that takes place every year. It is a chance for the entire student body to watch and participate in a competitive game with friends and classmates. The game is played in the gymnasium, with two teams of ten students each. The object of the game is to score the most points by shooting the ball through the opponents’ basket. The team with the most points at the end of the game wins.
This event is not only a great opportunity to showcase students’ talents, but it is also a fundraiser for the school’s sports teams In order to play in the game, each student must pay a $5 fee, which goes directly towards funding Blair’s athletics programs. This year, the game will take place on Friday, May 18th at 6:00pm in the Blair gymnasium.

The Blair Basketball League (BBL) is a competitive youth Basketball league based in Montgomery County, Maryland. The league consists of boys’ and girls’ teams in grades 3-8. The BBL is open to any student who attends a school in the county.
The BBL is one of the most competitive youth basketball leagues in the area. The league features some of the best young players in Montgomery County. Many of the league’s alumni have gone on to play college basketball and several have even played in the NBA.
