The Bridgewater College baseball team schedule is now available. The Eagles will play a 56-game schedule in 2020, beginning with a three-game series at Emory & Henry on Feb. 1-2.

The Bridgewater baseball team is a Division III college Baseball Team that competes in the East Conference The team is currently in first place in the conference with a record of 10-2. The team’s next game is against conference rivals, the Massachusetts Maritime Academy on April 7th.

Bridgewater Baseball: Team Stats

Bridgewater Baseball is a team based out of Bridgewater, Virginia. The team competes in Division III of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). As of the 2019 season, the team has an all-time record of 1,048-1,113-17.

The team’s first game was on February 25th, 1892 against Virginia Agricultural and Mechanical College.

Bridgewater Baseball: Coaching Staff

Head baseball coach Rich Jones
Entering his ninth season as Head Coach in 2020, Rich Jones has guided the program to five NCAA Division III Tournament appearances and four Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) championships. He has also been named CCC Coach of the Year on three occasions. Prior to coming to Bridgewater State Coach Jones was head coach at Massasoit Community College for nine seasons where he compiled a 230-109 (.679) record and led the Warriors to four NJCAA Region 21 tournaments. Coach Jones is a 1985 graduate of Gordon College with a bachelor’s degree in physical education He also holds a master’s degree in education from Cambridge College.
Assistant Baseball Coaches
Eric Larabee enters his fifth season as an Assistant Coach with the Bears in 2020. A former All-American pitcher at Franklin Pierce University, Larabee helped lead the Ravens to the Division II National Championship game in 2006. Upon graduation, Larabee spent two seasons as an assistant coach at Dean College before joining Coach Jones’ staff at Bridgewater State in 2016.
Scott McCluskey is entering his fourth season as an assistant Baseball Coach at Bridgewater State University in 2020. McCluskey, who also serves as the Bears’ pitching coach, helped guide BSU to its second straight NCAA Division III tournament appearance and first ever trip to the New England Regional Final last spring. Prior to coming to Bridgewater State, McCluskey spent four years as an assistant at Salem State University where he worked with both pitchers and hitters.

Bridgewater Baseball: Contact Information

The Bridgewater College baseball program has a long tradition of success, winning eight Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) championships and participating in 19 NCAA Division III tournaments. The team has also produced several Major League Baseball players, including All-Star pitcher Mark Mulder. The current Head Coach is Mike Dickson, who is entering his 12th season at the helm of the program.
