Introduction

The Brown University men’s basketball team represents Brown University in NCAA Division I college basketball The team currently competes in the Ivy League The Bears are coached by Mike Martin and play their home games at the Pizzitola Sports Center on the university’s campus in Providence, Rhode Island

The Bears have appeared in one NCAA tournament in 1986, where they defeated Virginia Commonwealth before losing to eventual National Champion Louisville in the Round of 32.

The Guards

The guards are the playmakers on the court. They control the tempo of the game and are responsible for creating scoring opportunities for their teammates. The guards on the Brown Basketball team are some of the best in the country. Here’s a closer look at each player:

-Junior guard Jaylen Watsons is one of the most versatile players on the team. He can score, rebound, and dish out assists. He’s also a great defender.
-Sophomore guard Jarrod Simpson is one of the quickest players on the team. He’s an excellent scorer and a good perimeter shooter.
-Freshman guard Michael Carter is a gifted scorer. He has a great outside shot and can also finish around the basket.

The Forwards

The forwards on the Brown basketball team are some of the most versatile and hardworking players on the court. From long-range shooters to defensive specialists, these players have a wide range of skills that make them invaluable to the team.

Junior forward Tamenang Choh is one of the team’s best three-point shooters, and he is also a very physical player who is not afraid to mix it up in the post. Senior forward Allen Williamson is the team’s best rebounder and a defensive stalwart who often takes on the opposition’s best player. Sophomore forward Obi Okolie is an up-and-coming player who has shown great potential on both ends of the court.

These forwards have different strengths, but they all work together to form a dangerous and well-rounded frontcourt. They are a big reason why the Brown Basketball team is one of the best in the country.

The Centers

The Centers on the Brown Basketball Roster are Key Players in the paint, helping to secure rebounds and score points close to the rim. This season, the Bears have two talented centers who have the potential to make a big impact on the court.

Junior Zach Hunsaker is a 6’10” center from Salt Lake City Utah. He played significant minutes as a sophomore, averaging 5.4 points and 3.7 rebounds per game He will be counted on to anchor the defense and provide a physical presence in the post.

Sophomore Tamenang Choh is a 6’9″ center from Abidjan, Ivory Coast He is a versatile player who can score inside and out and is a good rebounder and shot blocker. He provides a spark off the bench and will see increased playing time this season.

The Coaches

Women’s basketball Head Coach Kurt Budke and Assistant Coach Miranda Serna were killed in a plane crash on Thursday, Nov. 17, 2011, while recruiting in rural Perry County, Ark.

Assistant coach Joe Mott was named the interim head coach A native of Bartlesville, Okla., Mott is in his 12th season at OU and his 21st as a collegiate coach.

Under Mott’s tutelage, the Sooners have produced two NBA draft picks (Amanda Thompson and Whitney Hand), 13 All-Big 12 selections and two Big 12 Defensive Players of the Year (Abi Olajuwon in 2009 and Danielle Robinson in 2010 & 2011).

The Schedule

The 2017-18 Brown men’s Basketball Schedule is highlighted by 13 home games including 11 Ivy League contests, at the Pizzitola Sports Center. The Bears will also play two true road games and make one trip to a neutral site. Brown will host Sacred Heart (11/10), Stony Brook (11/12), Dartmouth (1/5), Harvard (1/26), Yale (2/2), Princeton (2/16), Penn (2/23) and Cornell (3/3) in league action at the Pizzitola Sports Center.

In non-conference action, the Bears travel to Quinnipiac (11/17) and Holy Cross (12/9). Brown will face Manhattan at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., on Saturday, December 16th. Brown has won four straight games played at Barclays Center, including a 61-41 victory over Columbia last season. tip time for all games will be announced at a later date.

The Brown basketball team was founded in 1900, making it one of the oldest teams in the country. The team quickly rose to prominence, winning its first Ivy League championship in 1903. The following year, the team made its first appearance in the NCAA Tournament Since then, the team has appeared in the tournament 22 times, most recently in 2016.

Throughout its history, the Brown basketball team has produced many Great players and moments. In 1946, guard Fritz Hanson set an NCAA record with 23 points in a single game. In 1970, center Michael Evans becameBrown’s first All-American. In 1986, forward Bryant Gumbel ’77 was named Ivy League Player of the Year. And in 1999, point guard Earl Hunt ’00 was named Ivy League Rookie of the Year.

Today,the Brown Basketball team is coached by Mike Martin ’04, who is one ofBrown’s All-time leading scorers. The team is led by captain Tamenang Choh ’20 and features several youngplayers who are poised to make their mark on Brown’s storied history.

The future is bright for the Brown Basketball Program With a strong core of returning players and a talented group of newcomers, the team is poised to make noise in the Ivy League and beyond.

Led by All-Ivy point guard Desmond Cambridge, the Bears will look to build on a strong 2018-19 campaign that saw them finish fourth in the conference and earn a spot in the postseason. Cambridge, who averaged over 16 points per game last season, will be joined by fellow All-Ivy selections Tamenang Choh and Zach Hunsaker in the backcourt.

In the frontcourt, Brown will be led by junior Obi Okolie, who averaged a double-double last season with 12 points and 10 rebounds per game Okolie will be joined by a trio of talented newcomers in Chris Knorr, Jonah Charles, and Jaelin Llewellyn.

With a mix of experience and youth, the Brown Basketball team is poised for a successful 2019-20 campaign.
