Introduction

Since the formation of the National Basketball Association in 1946, a total of sixty-seven BYU Cougars have been drafted into the NBA. Of those sixty-seven players, nineteen have played at least one game in the NBA. This list seeks to document every former BYU Cougar who has played in at least one NBA game

-Mel Hutchins, drafted 3rd overall in 1947 by the Milwaukee Hawks, played six seasons in the NBA and was an All-Star in 1951.
-Frank Layden, drafted 12th overall in 1963 by the Detroit Pistons played four seasons in the NBA and won an NBA Championship with the Boston Celtics in 1968.
--Danny Ainge drafted 31st overall in 1981 by the Boston Celtics played fourteen seasons in the NBA and won two NBA championships with the Celtics in 1984 and 1986.
