The 2019 California Golden Bears baseball team will look to make some noise in the Pac-12 this season. The 2019 California Golden Bears Baseball Team represents the University of California Berkeley in the 2019 NCAA Division I baseball season The Golden Bears play their home games at Evans Diamond, and are members of the Pac-12 Conference.

New Additions to the 2019 Cal Baseball Roster
The 2019 Cal baseball team will have some new faces on the roster this season. Here are some of the new additions:
Infielders:
Marcos Brito – A 5’10” infielder from Winter Haven Florida, Brito played his Prep Baseball at George Jenkins High School He was a four-year starter and was named to the All-Polk County first team as a senior. Brito was also a member of the school’s state championship team in 2016. He will be joining the Golden Bears as a freshman this season.
Andrew Daschbach – A 6’2″ infielder/outfielder from Palo Alto California, Daschbach played his Prep Baseball at Palo Alto high school He was named the Santa Clara Valley Athletic League Player of the Year as a senior after hitting .441 with 10 home runs and 33 RBIs. Daschbach was also named a first-team all-state selection by both MaxPreps and Cal-Hi Sports. He will be joining the Golden Bears as a freshman this season.
Outfielders:
Chris Sanders – A 6’3″ outfielder from San Diego California, Sanders played his Prep Baseball at Rancho Bernardo high school He was named first-team all-conference and first-team all-county as a senior after hitting .365 with seven home runs and 23 RBIs. Sanders will be joining the Golden Bears as a freshman this season.
Kamakani Uwehuia – A 6’2″ outfielder from Waimanalo, Hawaii, Uwehuia played his Prep Baseball at Punahou School. He was named first-team all-state as a senior after hitting .446 with four home runs and 24 RBIs. Uwehuia will be joining the Golden Bears as a freshman this season.

Pitchers:
-Andy neutrons: A senior from San Ramon, CA, Neutrons is a right-handed pitcher who has been a key member of the Cal pitching staff for the past three seasons. He has a career ERA of 3.21 and has struck out more than a batter per inning.
-Hunter Bishop: A sophomore from Stockton, CA, Bishop is one of the top prospects in the country. He was named the Pacific-12 Conference Freshman of the Year after going 9-4 with a 2.84 ERA in 2018.
-Ethan Beard: A senior from Danville, CA, Beard is a left-handed pitcher who has been a key member of the Cal bullpen for the past two seasons. He has pitched in 41 games in his career, compiling a 3.86 ERA.
Infielders:
-Andrew Knapp: A senior from San Carlos, CA, Knapp is a switch-hitting catcher who has been one of Cal’s top hitters for the past three seasons. He is a two-time All-Pac-12 selection and was named an All-American by perfect game in 2016.
-Jesse253 Hodges: A junior from Palo Alto, CA, Hodges is a third baseman who hit .321 with eight Home Runs and 42 RBIs as a sophomore in 2018. He was named an All-Pac-12 honorable mention last season.
-Gio Brusa: A senior from San Francisco CA, Brusa is an outfielder who hit .317 with 12 home runs and 45 RBIs as a junior in 2018. He was named second team All-Pac-12 and was an ABCA regional All – Star last season.
Outfielders:
Dylan Johnston: A sophomore from Encinitas, CA, Johnston is an outfielder who hit .273 with four home runs and 19 RBIs as a freshman in 2018.
Mitchell White: A senior from Glendora, CA, White is an outfielder who has been a key contributor to the Cal baseball program for the past four seasons. He hit .276 with two home runs and 20 RBIs as a junior in 2018

Shortstop Andrew Vaughn is the reigning Pac-12 Freshman of the Year and is widely considered one of the best young hitters in college baseball Third baseman Levi Michael was a two-way star in high school and is expected to be a key contributor on both Offense and defense First baseman Jeren Kendall was a highly-touted recruit who has already shown flashes of his potential at the plate. And second baseman Brenden Baker is a reliable veteran who will provide leadership and stability in the middle of the infield.

The Pitchers of the 2019 Cal Baseball Roster

Eli Davis – A senior from San Ramon, CA, Eli Davis is a two-time Pac-12 All-Conference selection. He was also named to the All-American Team by Collegiate Baseball Newspaper in 2018. Davis is a talented defensive catcher with a strong arm. He’s also an accomplished hitter, batting .305 with 8 home runs and 37 RBI last season.
Andrew Knapp – A senior from Granite Bay, CA, Andrew Knapp was named Pac-12 Conference Defensive Player of the Year in 2018. He’s an excellent all-around catcher with a strong arm and good instincts behind the plate. Knapp is also a solid hitter, batting .296 with 9 home runs and 40 RBI last season.
Matt Dunbar – A junior from Alameda, CA, Matt Dunbar is a transfer from Contra Costa College He’s a strong defensive catcher with good receiving skills. Dunbar doesn’t have much experience as a hitter at the collegiate level, but he did hit .333 with 1 home run and 17 RBI in his final season at Contra Costa College

The roster is made up of players from all around the country, with 14 different states represented on the team. The team is coached by Mike Neu and assistant coach JT Snow. The schedule for the 2019 season has the team playing 56 games, with 27 of those games being at home and 29 on the road.
