Canisius first fielded a Baseball Team in 1901, and quickly established themselves as a force to be reckoned with. The team won their first pennant in 1903, and would go on to win four more over the next decade. Canisius was also successful in the postseason, winning the 1904 World Series and finishing as runners-up in both 1903 and 1907.

The team experienced a bit of a down period in the 1910s and 1920s, but returned to form in the 1930s. Canisius won another pennant in 1931, and made it back-to-back titles by winning again in 1932. The Griffins have 19 games left in their regular season and they will be looking to solidify their spot at the top of the conference standings. Their remaining schedule features some tough opponents, including a three-game series against Rider University (ranked second in the MAAC). But if they can finish strong, the Griffins will be in good position to make a run at the conference championship
