Beasley came to Dixie State after a successful run as the Head Coach at Mountain West Conference rival Grand Canyon University
At GCU, Beasley led the Antelopes to a 193-73 record and three straight berths in the NCAA Division I Tournament (2015-17). GCU also won back-to-back Mountain West Conference championships under Beasley in 2016 and 2017.

Once an afterthought in the world of Collegiate Baseball Dixie State is now a perennial contender in the Division II ranks, having qualified for the NCAA Division II Baseball Championship four times in the last six years.
What is behind this sudden surge in success?
There are a number of factors that have contributed to Dixie State’s rise in the baseball ranks.
First and foremost among them is the hiring of head coach Chris Paine in 2012.
Under Paine’s tutelage, the Trailblazers have compiled a record of 284-142 (.667), including four 40-win seasons and four trips to the NCAA Division II Baseball Championship
Paine has also helped attract top talent to Dixie State, with 34 of his former players going on to play professional baseball including 15 who have reached the Major Leagues
Another key factor in Dixie State’s rise has been the construction of Bruce Hurst Field, which opened prior to the start of the 2015 season.
The state-of-the-art facility has played host to a number of major events, including two NCAA Division II West Region Championships (2015 & 2018) and an MLB exhibition game between the Seattle Mariners and Arizona Diamondbacks (2017).
