What is a bust? A bust is defined as a player who is drafted in the first round of the NBA draft but does not have a successful NBA career. These are players who failed to live up to the expectations that were placed on them when they were drafted.

There have been many busts in the history of the NBA Draft Some of the most notable ones include:

· Michael Olowokandi – The first overall pick in the 1998 NBA Draft Olowokandi was expected to be a franchise center for the Los Angeles Clippers. However, he only played for six seasons in the NBA and was out of the league by 2006.

· Kwame Brown – The first overall pick in the 2001 NBA Draft Brown was drafted by his hometown Washington Wizards with high hopes that he would be their franchise center for years to come. Unfortunately, he only lasted eight seasons in the league and was considered to be one of the biggest draft busts in history.

· Darko Milicic – The second overall pick in the 2003 NBA Draft Darko was drafted by the Detroit Pistons ahead of future superstars Carmelo Anthony and Dwyane Wade He only played nine seasons in the NBA and is widely considered to be one of the biggest draft busts ever.
