As a sophomore in 2005–06, he averaged 12.6 points and 11.0 rebounds per game He improved his numbers to 16.2 points, 13.3 rebounds and 3.7 blocks per game as a junior while leading Saginaw to a 27–1 record and the Class A state semifinals. As a senior in 2007–08, he averaged 25.5 points, 15.7 rebounds and 6.5 blocks per game as Saginaw went undefeated until losing to Detroit Northern high school in the Class A state quarterfinals.[1] Green was often compared to Rasheed Wallace during his time at Saginaw.[2]
