Eastern Washington Basketball Releases 2019-2020 Schedule

The Eastern Washington University women’s basketball team has announced their schedule for the 2019-2020 Season

2019-2020 season schedule

Eastern Washington will face some tough competition this upcoming season as they take on some of the best teams in the country. The Eagles will open their season with an away game against the University of Washington on November 5th. This will be followed by a Home game against Gonzaga on November 12th. Other notable games include a road game against Oregon on December 18th and a home game against Idaho on January 25th. The Eagles will look to build off of their success from last season, when they won the Big Sky Conference regular season title.

Nov. 5 at Washington State (Pullman, Wash.), 7:00 p.m. – Beasley Coliseum
Nov. 8 at Idaho State (Pocatello, Idaho), 6:05 p.m. – Holt Arena
Nov. 12 Gonzaga (Spokane, Wash.), 7:00 p.m. – McCarthey Athletic Center
Nov. 15 Seattle (Spokane, Wash.), 7:00 p.m. – McCarthey Athletic Center

Promotions and giveaways

The Eastern Washington University men’s basketball team has released its promotional schedule for the 2019-20 season The schedule features several promotions and giveaways, including a free EWU t-shirt for the first 1,000 fans at the team’s season opener on November 8th. Other highlights include a “White Out” game on December 21st, where fans are encouraged to wear white to show their support for the Eagles, and a “Star Wars Night” on January 18th, where fans can come dressed as their favorite Star Wars character.

Rival games

The Eastern Washington University men’s Basketball team released its 2019-2020 schedule on Wednesday, and it includes several games against rivals.

The Eagles will open their season at home against Idaho State on Nov. 5. They will also play at home against Montana State on Nov. 29 and Montana on Dec. 14.

Eastern Washington will face Idaho on the road on Dec. 17 and play at Portland State on Jan. 11.

The Eagles’ Conference Schedule includes games against Weber State Northern Arizona Southern Utah North Dakota and Sacramento State

Home games

The Eastern Washington Eagles men’s basketball team announced their 2019-2020 season schedule, which includes 18 home games

The home games will be played at the newly renovated Reese Court, which underwent a $9 million facelift this offseason. The renovations include a new roof, lighting, and sound system, as well as updated fan amenities such as wider concourses and additional restrooms.

The Eagles will open their season at home on November 5th against Simon Fraser, followed by a game against crosstown rivals Gonzaga on November 12th. Other notable home games include matchups against Montana (November 26th), Weber State (January 10th), and Idaho (February 21st).

The schedule also features three non-conference games that will be played at neutral sites. On December 14th, the Eagles will take on Texas Tech in Las Vegas followed by a game against Bradley in Spokane on December 18th. The final neutral site game will be played against UC Santa Barbara in Seattle on December 28th.

Away games

The Eastern Washington University men’s basketball team has finalized its non-conference schedule with the release of its 2019-20 slate on Wednesday (Sept. 4).

The Eagles, who are coming off a historic 2018-19 campaign that saw them win a share of the Big Sky Conference regular season title, will open up the 2019-20 season with an exhibition game against Concordia on Oct. 30. EWU will then host Lewis-Clark State in its regular Season Opener on Nov. 5 before hitting the road for four of its next five games.

Senior night

The Eastern Washington University men’s basketball team will host 14 games in Reese Court at the University Recreation & Athletic Center as part of the 2019-20 schedule announced by Head Coach Shantay Legans on Wednesday, Sept. 11.

“We are really looking forward to getting started with what should be a very competitive non-conference schedule ” said Legans, who is entering his third season at the helm of the Eagles. “Once again, we will play a difficult road schedule in conference that will prepare us for the postseason.”

The Eagles’ slate features three games against teams that participated in the 2019 NCAA tournament – at Auburn (Nov. 12), vs. Montana (Dec. 28) and at Idaho (Feb. 8) – and 11 contests versus squads that reached the postseason last year in either the National Invitational Tournament or college basketball Invitational.

Family night

The first game of the season is on Friday, November 8, at 7:00 pm against Central Washington University The game will be held in Cheney, Washington at the EWU Coliseum and is “family night.” This means that all tickets will be half-price for families of four or more. Additionally, the first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive a free t-shirt.

Student night

The Eastern Washington University men’s basketball team announced today that they will be having a Student Night during their game on December 17th, 2019. The game, against the University of Idaho, will start at 6:00 pm and all tickets will be $5 for students with a valid ID.

This is the first year that the school has done this type of event and they are hoping that it will be well-received by the student body. “We want to create an environment where our students can come and enjoy a competitive basketball game at a discounted price,” said Athletic Director Todd Turner. “This is a great way for us to connect with our students and give them an opportunity to support their school.”

The athletics department is also working on other initiatives to connect with students, such as holding tailgates before home football games and giving out free t-shirts at men’s basketball games

Alumni night

Eastern Washington basketball has announced its schedule for the 2019-2020 season, with the marquee event being alumni night on January 25th. The game, which will be against Idaho, will be the first time in program history that EWU will honor its alumni.

“We are excited to announce our schedule for the upcoming season ” said head coach Jim Hayford. “Our goal is always to put together a competitive non-conference schedule that will prepare us for league play, and I think we have done that again this year.”

The Eagles will open their season on November 5th at home against UC Davis, before hitting the road for games at San Diego State (November 8th) and UC Irvine (November 12th). They will then return home for four straight games, including a matchup with Washington State on November 27th.

Other notable games on the schedule include a December 18th tilt with Gonzaga, as well as matchups with conference foes Montana (January 2nd), Idaho (January 25th), and Weber State (February 8th).
