The Fieldcrest High School girl’s Basketball team is having a phenomenal season. With a record of twenty-two wins and only two losses, they are the team to watch in the state championship Their Head Coach Lisa Malkowski, has been with the team for four years and has led them to the playoffs every year. This year, she says, is different. “The girls are focused and determined. They want to win badly.”
The team’s success is due in large part to their three senior captains: Allison Dutton, Emily Anderson, and Sarah Swanson. These three girls have been playing together since they were freshmen and have developed a great on-court chemistry. “We just know where each other is going to be,” says Emily. “It’s like we can read each other’s minds.”

The team is made up of five seniors, four juniors, and three sophomores. The seniors are: Abby Anderson, Emily Brown, Sarah Schmidt, Lauren Williams, and Katie Ziegler. The juniors are: Hannah Martin, Morgan Meyer, Olivia Stenzel, and Paige Wirthlin. The sophomores are: Kennedy Dambach, Macy Daugherty, and Emerson Hicks.
The team is coached by Mr. Brian Lyons and his Assistant Coach Mr. Ryan Finn. Mr. Lyons has been coaching for fifteen years and this is his first year at Fieldcrest. Mr. Finn has been coaching for eight years and he also coaches the Fieldcrest boys Basketball team
The girls have been playing together since they were in sixth grade and they have always had a love for the game of basketball This season they have come together as a team and their bond is stronger than ever. They are excited to take on the challenges that lie ahead in the State Tournament and they are determined to bring home the championship trophy!

The team is led by captain and senior point guard Allie Baker. Allie is averaging 16 points, 5 assists, and 3 steals per game while shooting an impressive 45% from three-point range She is flanked by two other senior starters in forwards Abby Gundy and Julia Schneider. Both seniors are averaging double figures in points and rebound with Abby adding 4 blocks per game. The rest of the rotation consists of junior center Emma Dolan, sophomore guard Kate Lynch, and freshman forward Sophie Johnson.
The team has faced some adversity this season, losing starting forward Hannah Schroeder to a season-ending ACL injury in December. But they have persevered and should be considered a serious threat to win it all come March Madness
