In just four years, they have led the team to two conference tournament appearances and one regular season conference championship. Under their leadership, the team has set new single-season records for wins, conference wins, home runs and Slugging percentage They have also developed a strong recruiting pipeline that has brought in some of the best High School players in the state of Arkansas.

Assistant coach Nate Kuesterke has been with Coach Batten since the beginning of their rebuild project. He is responsible for working with the hitters and outfielders. In his four years at Henderson State University Coach Kuesterke has helped develop fourteen All-Conference players and three All-Americans. He is widely considered to be one of the top hitting coaches in Division II baseball

Assistant coach Jason semic is in his third year with the Henderson State University Baseball Program He works with the pitchers and catchers and is considered to be one of the top pitching coaches in Division II baseball. Under his tutelage, the pitching staff has set new single-season records for strikeouts, ERA, and opponent batting average In addition, he has developed three All-Americans and fourteen All-Conference players.
