Iit men’s basketball is one of the most successful programs in the country. They have won six National Championships and have been to the Final Four nineteen times. The team is coached by John Calipari who has won eight conference championships and four national championships. The team plays its home games at the Kohl Center which has a capacity of 17,000.

The team is led by Captain, Erwin Glebe who is a senior this year. The rest of the starting lineup includes juniors Matt Milano, Andrew McDonald, and Eric Sutherland, with sophomores Ryan Glebe and Nick Lippert coming off the bench. The team finished the regular season with an impressive 23-3 record which included big wins against rivals Bradley University and Valparaiso University
Iit advanced to the Sweet Sixteen of the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Tournament for the first time in school history after beating Texas Tech in the first round and then Auburn in the second round. The team’s run came to an end when they lost to eventual National Champion Virginia in the Sweet Sixteen

The Iit Men’s Basketball team has had a very successful season so far. They have a record of 21-3, and their only losses have come at the hands of ranked opponents. The team is currently ranked fifth in the nation, and they are considered to be one of the favorites to win the National Championship
The team is led by Senior guard Mike Conley who is averaging 18.1 points per game Conley is one of the best players in the country, and he will be a big key to the team’s success in the tournament. Other Key Players for Iit include Senior forwardee Daequan Cook (17.4 ppg) and Sophomore guard Jerryd Bayless (15.7 ppg).

The Championship game was a rematch of last year’s title game, with Iit again taking on their bitter rivals, the University of Chicago. This time, however, Iit was determined to come out on top.
The game was evenly matched throughout, with neither team able to gain a significant advantage. Iit took control in the final minutes of the game and emerged victorious, winning by a score of 60-58.
This victory was especially sweeter for Iit, as it avenged their loss from last year and earned them their first ever men’s Basketball Championship Congratulations to Iit on an incredible season!

IIT men’s basketball will compete in the 2016-2017 season as a Division III school in the NCAA’s Midwest Conference The 20-game Conference Schedule will begin in early December and end in late February.
