Jeremy Smith was born in Dallas, Texas, on May 16, 1988, to parents Kathy and Jerry Smith. He has two older brothers, Jeff and Jared. When he was five years old, his family moved to Denver, Colorado. Jeremy played hockey for the University of North Dakota from 2007 to 2011.
