The Team

The Lindenwood Baseball Team is composed of student athletes who have a passion for the game and strive for success both on and off the field. The team is made up of 27 players, all of whom are eager to compete at the Division II level and continue Lindenwood’s tradition of excellence. The Lions are coming off a successful 2019 season in which they posted a 27-22 record and made it to the semifinal round of the MIAA tournament.

The Rivalries

Rivalries are what make baseball so special. The competition on the field is intense, and the games are always highly anticipated. Here is a look at some of Lindenwood’s biggest rivals:

– Missouri Baptist University This is Lindenwood’s biggest rival, and the two teams always have a lot riding on the outcome of their matchup. The Lions have won the last five meetings between the two teams, but the Spartans always give them a run for their money.

Park University Park is another team that always gives Lindenwood a tough game. The rivalry between these two schools dates back to when they were both members of the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA). The Lions have won four out of the last five meetings, but the Pioneers will be looking to even the score this season.

Culver-Stockton College Culver-Stockton is another team that Lindenwood has had some great battles with over the years. The Wildcats are always a tough opponent, and Lindenwood has only won three out of the last seven meetings between the two schools.

The History

wood baseball began as a club sport in the fall of 1997. The team played its first season in the spring of 1998. The program became an NCAA Division III sport in the fall of 2000. Lindenwood won its first conference championship in 2001 and made its first appearance in the NCAA Division III tournament. The team has appeared in the tournament four times overall, with its best finish coming in 2004 when it reached the Midwest Regional Finals.

The Ballpark

The Lindenwood baseball team is gearing up for another exciting season! Catch them in action at their home field, located at 209 S. Kingshighway in St. Charles, Missouri. The ballpark is a Great Place to enjoy a game with family and friends, with plenty of seating and concessions available.

This year’s schedule includes some big games, so be sure to check it out and plan your visit accordingly. The team will be playing their first game on March 1st against Lewis and Clark Community College followed by a Home game against Missouri Baptist University on March 5th. There are also several away games throughout the month, so be sure to check the schedule for dates and locations.

The Post-Season

The Lindenwood baseball team will be entering the post-season following a strong regular season The team’s first game will be against Maryville on May 17th. Below is a complete guide to the team’s post-season schedule.

The Future

With a new Head Coach and several fresh faces on the roster, the Lindenwood Baseball Team is looking to turn things around in 2019. After a disappointing 2018 campaign that saw the Lions finish last in the conference, Coach Ed Luther and his team are hoping to climb the standings and make a run at the conference title

With that said, here is your guide to Wood Baseball in 2019:

Schedule:

The season begins on February 15th with a three-game series against Oklahoma Baptist The Lions will then travel to Texas for a four-game series against UT-RGV before returning home for a three-game set against Rockhurst. March will see Lindenwood take on some of the best teams in Division II baseball, including Missouri Southern, Central Missouri and Lincoln. The Lions will close out the month with a four-game series against Newman.

In April, Lindenwood will look to build on their momentum as they take on conference foes William Jewell, Arkansas-Monticello, Ouachita Baptist and Henderson State The regular season will come to a close on May 10th with a three-game series against SE Missouri State

The conference tournament will be held from May 16-19th at Alumni Field in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. The top eight teams in the Conference Standings will qualify for the tournament.
