The Starters
The Marshall Thundering Herd men’s Basketball team is set to have a great season this year. Here’s a look at the starters and what they bring to the team.
PG: Jarrod West – Averaging 10.5 points and 4.5 assists per game West is the floor general for the Herd. He’s a good shooter and can get to the rim when he wants to. He’ll be tasked with running the offense and keeping things under control on the court.
SG: C.J. Burke – Burke is one of the team’s best scoring threats, averaging 13 points per game on 45% shooting from the field. He’s a good three-point shooter and can also put it on the floor and get to the rim when he needs to.
SF: Ahmad Caver – Caver is one of the best defenders on the team, averaging 1.5 steals per game. He’s also a good rebounder, averaging 5 rebounds per game offensively, he isn’t asked to do much but he can knock down an open jumper when he needs to.
PF: Milan Mijailovic – Mijailovic is one of the best shooters on the team, shooting over 50% from three-point range He doesn’t do much else other than shoot threes, but he does it well enough that he warrantst starting spot in the lineup.
C: Ajdin Penava – Penava is one of the best players on the team, averaging a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds per game He’s a good shooter, rebounder, and defender, and will be looked to as one of the leaders of this team this season.
The Bench
The Marshall Thundering Herd men’s basketball team is an American college Basketball team representing Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia They compete in the NCAA Division I as a member of Conference USA The team last played in the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Tournament in 1987.
The Thundering Herd are currently coached by Dan D’Antoni, who was hired on May 30, 2014. He is assisted by Mark Cline and Lamont Marshall.
The Injured

The Coaches
The Coaches of the Marshall Thundering Herd men’s basketball team are the driving force behind the team. They are responsible for designing strategies, plays and defenses to give their team the best chance of winning. They also work closely with the players to help them improve their skills and understanding of the game.
The current Head Coach of the Marshall Thundering Herd is Dan D’Antoni. He was hired in 2019 after serving as an Assistant Coach for the Houston Rockets of the NBA. D’Antoni has also been head coach of several other teams, including the New York Knicks and Los Angeles Lakers.
D’Antoni is assisted by Greg White, Kyle Getter and Maurice Hicks. White has been with the Marshall Thundering Herd since 2019. Getter joined the staff in 2020 after serving as an assistant coach at Loyola Marymount University. Hicks was hired in 2020 and he has worked as an assistant coach at Morehead State University and Sam Houston State University
The Statisticians
The Statisticians is a nickname given to the bench players of the Marshall University men’s basketball team The Statisticians are known for their contributions to the team’s success through their statistics and analytics.
The Statisticians consists of four players: Donta Harper, Jaylon Harrison, Darius George, and Christian Tharpe. These players are all from different academic backgrounds, but they all share a passion for basketball and a love of the game.
Harper is a transfer from West Virginia University. He is originally from Huntington, West Virginia and played his High School basketball at Huntington Prep He is majoring in Mathematics with a minor in Economics.
Harrison is from Detroit, Michigan and played his high school basketball at Denby high school He is majoring in Psychology with a minor in Sociology.
George is from Mount Vernon Ohio and played his high school basketball at Mount Vernon high school He is majoring in Biology with a minor in Chemistry.
Tharpe is from Toronto, Canada and played his high school basketball at VaughanRoad Academy. He is majoring in Sport Management with a minor in Business Administration.
The Trainers
Hall Basketball has a long and storied history. The team has produced many Great players coaches, and teams over the years. In recent years the team has been led by Head Coach Dan D’Antoni and assistant coach Mike D’Antoni. The team’s training staff is headed by trainer Allen Edwards.

The Big Green The Big Green is Marshall’s official student section Located behind one of the baskets at Marshall’s home court the Cam Henderson Center, the Big Green is known for its creative and enthusiastic cheers and chants. Membership in the Big Green is open to all currently enrolled Marshall students.
The Herd Zone: The Herd Zone is Marshall’s official home for basketball fans on game days. Located in the Cam Henderson Center, the Herd Zone provides a place for fans to congregate before and during games. It also features a wide variety of food and drink options, as well as a variety of merchandise for purchase.
The Thundering Herd Club: The Thundering Herd Club is Marshall’s official booster club. Members of the club receive a variety of benefits, including early access to tickets for home games invitations to special events, and discounts on merchandise.
The Media
The Media is the section of the Marshall Basketball Roster where you will find information on the team’s Head coach radio and television broadcasting teams, and the print and digital media members who cover the Marshall Thundering Herd.
