The Minnesota Gophers Hockey Team is set to have another great season this year, and their schedule has just been released!
The Gophers will open their season with an exhibition game against the University of British Columbia on October 1st. They will then have their regular season opener at home against the Omaha Mavericks on October 7th.
Some key games to look out for later in the season include a rematch of last year’s National Championship game against the University of Massachusetts on December 9th, and a home-and-home series against conference rivals the University of Wisconsin on February 3rd and 4th.

It’s that time of year again, hockey fans! The Gophers hockey schedule is finally here, and we could not be more excited. As always, the Gophers will be facing off against some of the best teams in the country, and we can’t wait to see how they fare.
So mark your calendars and clear your schedule, because you’re not going to want to miss a single game. The Gophers Hockey Schedule is always one of the most exciting parts of the year, and we can’t wait to see what this season has in store.
The Gophers Hockey Schedule is Here: A First Look
It’s hard to believe, but the Minnesota Gophers hockey season starts in just a few short weeks. Below is a first look at the schedule, with some thoughts on each series. As always, things can and likely will change between now and the start of the season (broadcast times and schedules are still fluid), but this should give you a good idea of what to expect in the coming months.
The Gophers will open their season on Friday, October 9th at home against Arizona State This will be the first meeting between the two programs, and it will be interesting to see how they stack up against each other. The Gophers will then hit the road for a pair of games against North Dakota before returning home to host Wisconsin on October 23rd.
After that, it’s a busy November for the Gophers. They’ll play 11 games in the month, including a home-and-home series with Colorado College (11/6-7), a trip to Boston College (11/13-14), and home games against St. Cloud State (11/27) and Minnesota Duluth (11/28).
December is a bit lighter, with just seven games on the schedule. The Gophers will open the month with a trip to Grand Forks to take on North Dakota (12/4-5), before returning home for a three-game homestand against Omaha (12/11), Western Michigan (12/12), and Miami (OH) (12/30). They’ll wrap up 2020 with a New Year’s Eve game at Denver.
January sees the Gophers back on the road for four of their six games. They’ll start off 2021 with a trip to Duluth (1/1-2), followed by another road series at St. Cloud State (1/8-9). They’ll then return home for two games against Colorado College (1/15-16) before hitting the road again for a game at Omaha (1/22). They’ll wrap up January at home against North Dakota (1/29-30).
The Gophers will have their bye week in early February, before returning to action with a four-game homestand. They’ll host St. Cloud State (2/12), Miami(OH) 2/13), Denver 2/26-27), and Wisconsin 2/19). March will see them hit the road for four of their six games, including trips to Duluth 3/5-6) and Omaha 32012-3113). They’ll close out the Regular Season at home against North Dakota 312728).

Oct. 6 vs. St. Cloud State The Gophers open the season at home against in-state rivals St. Cloud State This should be a great game and a good early test for both teams.
Nov. 3 vs. North Dakota The Gophers have had some great games against North Dakota in recent years and this should be another one. North Dakota is always a tough opponent, but the Gophers will be looking to get a win in this one.

October 13 vs St. Cloud State University
The Gophers will face one of their biggest rivals, St. Cloud State, in their second game of the season. The Huskies finished last season with a 27-9-1 record overall and a 20-6 mark in conference play They made it all the way to the Frozen Four before falling to eventual National Champion Denver in the semifinals. The Huskies will be looking to exact revenge on Minnesota this season and they will surely give them all they can handle in what should be a great matchup between two top teams in college hockey
