1957: The first team in program history is fielded.

1968: Bob “Butter” Lampkin becomes the first Molloy College player to be drafted by an MLB team when he is selected by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the fifth round of the 1968 MLB Draft

1973: Molloy College wins its first conference championship taking home the title in what was then called the Metropolitan Collegiate Conference.

1976: Mike Colla becomes the highest MLB draft pick in program history when he is taken in the second round (44th overall) by the Boston Red Sox

2003: Molloy College joins Division II of NCAA athletics and becomes a member of the East Coast Conference

2009: The Molloy College Baseball Team moves into its new home at Quealy Field.

2014: The Lions win their first Conference Championship as a Division II program, taking home the title in the East Coast Conference.

Molloy College has announced their Baseball Roster for the 2017 season. The team will have 28 players representing 15 different states, 4 countries, and 3 continents. Senior right-handed pitcher Mike Sheppard Jr. (Merrick, NY/Mepham HS) will return as the team captain for his fourth and final season with the Lions.

“We are really excited about our roster for the upcoming season ” said head coach Pat Doyle. ” We have a great mix of experienced veterans and talented newcomers that we believe can help us compete for a conference championship.”

The team will be looking to improve on their 18-23 record from last season and return to the playoffs after a one year absence. They will open up their season on February 25th when they travel to Myrtle Beach South Carolina to take on Mount Olive University.
