Montverde Basketball Alumni: Where are they now?

Since its founding in 1993, Montverde Academy’s Basketball Program has produced some of the best talent in the country. Many of our alumni have gone on to have successful careers in the NBA and overseas. Here’s a look at what some of our most famous alumni are up to now.

George Hill: After a successful college career at IUPUI, George was drafted by the San Antonio Spurs in 2008. He played for the Spurs for nine years, winning an NBA Championship in 2014. George is currently a member of the Milwaukee Bucks

Dwyane Wade: After leading Marquette to the Final Four in 2003, Dwyane was drafted 5th overall by the Miami Heat He spent 16 seasons with the Heat, winning three NBA championships Dwyane is currently a member of the Chicago Bulls

Chris Paul: Chris played two years of college basketball at Wake Forest before being drafted 4th overall by the New Orleans Hornets in 2005. He’s played for various teams throughout his career but is currently a member of the Houston Rockets

Derrick Rose: Derrick was one of the most highly-touted prospects in recent memory, and he did not disappoint when he joined the Chicago Bulls as the 1st overall pick in 2008. Derrick had a successful career with the Bulls but has been plagued by injuries in recent years He is currently a member of the Minnesota Timberwolves

Montverde Basketball Alumni: Making a difference

Since its inception in 1930, the Montverde Basketball Program has been highly successful. The team has won numerous conference and State Championships and their alumni have gone on to play at the collegiate and professional levels.

Now, several of those alumni are giving back to the community that helped them achieve their dreams. Montverde graduates are working with local youth helping them to develop their skills and character both on and off the court. In addition, they are providing scholarships to help ensure that all students have access to a quality education.

The Montverde basketball alumni are making a difference in the lives of many young people and they are truly an inspiration to us all.

Montverde Basketball: A program with a purpose

The Montverde Basketball Program has churned out some of the best talent in the country over the years. But it’s not just about creating exceptional players – it’s also about helping them grow into exceptional people.

Under the guidance of coach Kevin Boyle the program has produced not only NBA Stars like Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid but also young men who are making a difference in their communities.

Alumni like Josh Green are working with underprivileged kids in Australia, while others like R.J. Barrett are using their platform to speak out on social justice issues.

It’s clear that the Montverde basketball program is about much more than just basketball. It’s about developing young men into leaders who are making a positive impact in the world.

Montverde Basketball Alumni: Giving back

Since its inception, the Montverde Basketball Program has produced numerous successful alumni. Many of these alumni have gone on to have successful careers in the NBA or overseas. However, some of our most successful alumni are those who are giving back to their communities.

Each year, the Montverde Basketball Alumni Association awards scholarships to High School seniors who show promise both on and off the court. This year, we awarded scholarships to 10 students, each of whom will receive $1,000 to help pay for their education.

In addition to our scholarship program, the Montverde Basketball Alumni Association also provides support to various local community organizations. We are proud to partner with the Boys & Girls Club of Central Florida, the YMCA of Central Florida, and the Special Olympics of Central Florida. These organizations provide valuable services to our community and we are happy to be able to support their work.

Montverde Basketball: More than just a game

Since its founding in 1987, Montverde Academy has built a reputation as one of the nation’s Premier Basketball programs. Under the direction of legendary coach Kevin Boyle, the Eagles have won nine consecutive National Championships and produced dozens of NBA players

But Montverde Basketball is about more than just winning on the court. The program has also had a profound impact on the lives of its alumni, many of whom have gone on to have successful careers in business, philanthropy and public service.

In recent years Montverde Basketball alumni have made headlines for their work in supporting underserved communities and advancing social justice causes. In 2017, Chicago Bulls star Dwyane Wade opened a state-of-the-art community center in his hometown of Chicago, while Brooklyn Nets player Spencer Dinwiddie has launched a foundation to support youth basketball programs in underserved areas.

Meanwhile, New York Knicks star Carmelo Anthony has been a vocal advocate for social justice causes, using his platform to speak out against police brutality and racial inequality. And Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban has been a vocal supporter of policies that would help level the playing field for economically disadvantaged students.

These are just a few examples of how Montverde Basketball alumni are using their platform to make a difference in the world. As the program continues to produce talented players and successful leaders, it is clear that its impact will be felt far beyond the basketball court

Montverde Basketball Alumni: A force for good

Since its founding in 1993, Montverde Academy has produced some of the world’s top basketball players But the influence of Montverde doesn’t stop on the court — many alumni are using their platform to make a difference in their communities.

Rising star RJ Barrett, who was recently drafted by the New York Knicks has been outspoken about using his platform to fight for social justice. “I can use this platform to try and make a change,” Barrett said in an interview with Bleacher Report “I have a voice now.”

Barrett is just one of many Montverde alumni using their platform to make a difference. Toronto Raptors player OG Anunoby has also been active in promoting social justice, and Philadelphia 76ers player Matisse Thybulle has been an advocate for mental health awareness.

These athletes are carrying on the tradition of giving back that was established by Montverde founder George Whitefield. “Service to others has always been at the core of what we do at Montverde,” says Headmaster Kasey Rowland. “Our alumni are making a difference in the world, and we couldn’t be more proud.”

Montverde Basketball: Building character and community

Founded in 1993, Montverde Academy is a private, college preparatory school located in Central Florida. The school has a long-standing tradition of excellence in academics and athletics, and is perhaps best known for its Basketball Program

Since its inception, the Montverde basketball program has produced many successful alumni, both on and off the court. These alumni include NBA players such as Joel Embiid Ben Simmons and D’Angelo Russell, as well as NBA player Kristi Tolliver.

Beyond their success as professional athletes, many Montverde basketball alumni are making a difference in their communities. For example, Embiid and Simmons have both been active in philanthropy, Supporting causes such as children’s hospitals and literacy programs. Additionally, Russell has been working with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America to mentor young people

The Montverde basketball program has clearly had a positive impact on the lives of its alumni. By instilling values such as hard work determination, and leadership, the program is helping to create tomorrow’s leaders.

Rudy Gay- Gay is an American professional basketball player for the San Antonio Spurs of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played college basketball for the University of Connecticut before being drafted eighth overall in the 2006 NBA draft by the Houston Rockets He was traded to the Memphis Grizzlies later that year.

JaVale McGee- McGee is an American professional basketball player for the Los Angeles Lakers of the NBA. He played College Basketball for Nevada before being drafted 18th overall in the 2008 NBA Draft by the Washington Wizards He has also played for the Denver Nuggets Philadelphia 76ers, Dallas Mavericks Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers

Dwight Howard- Howard is an American Professional Basketball player for the Los Angeles Lakers of the NBA. He played high school basketball at Southwest Atlanta Christian Academy and he then chose to forego college and entered the 2004 NBA Draft as a high school graduate. He was selected first overall by the Orlando Magic and he quickly became one of the best players in the league. Howard has also played for the Houston Rockets Atlanta Hawks Charlotte Hornets and Washington Wizards

Montverde Basketball: Leaving a legacy

Montverde Academy’s basketball program has churned out some of the best players in the country over the years. But it’s not just the on-court successes that make this program special – it’s also the way that its alumni are making a difference in their communities after they leave Montverde.

Many of Montverde’s basketball alumni go on to have successful careers in the NBA or overseas, but just as many are using their platform and their talents to give back to their communities. Here are just a few examples:

Rudy Gay is one of the most successful players to come out of Montverde, and he’s used his platform to support causes close to his heart. In 2016, he started a literacy initiative called “Read to Achieve” in his hometown of Baltimore, and he has also donated his time and resources to victims of Hurricane Harvey.

Joakim Noah, another Montverde alumni, runs a foundation called Noah’s Arc Foundation, which is dedicated to helping young people in underserved communities. The foundation provides mentorship and leadership programs, as well as scholarships for students who want to pursue higher education.

Carmelo Anthony is another alum who has used his platform to give back. He founded the Carmelo Anthony Foundation, which provides support for after-school programs and youth development initiatives. He also started a scholarship program for low-income students in New York City

Montverde Basketball Alumni: Making a difference, one player at a time

Since its founding in 1993, Montverde Academy’s Basketball Program has seen numerous alumni go on to success at the collegiate and professional levels. But it’s not just the players who have made a name for themselves – the coaches have also had a profound impact on the game.

Head coach Kevin Boyle has coached 12 McDonald’s All-Americans, 31 players who have gone on to play in the NBA or NBA G League and numerous others who have had successful careers overseas. He has also been named USA Basketball’s National Coach of the Year three times.

Assistant coach Shawn Flanigan has also helped shape the lives of many young men through basketball. A former player himself, Flanigan understands the game and the importance of mentorship. He has helped guide countless players to successful collegiate and professional careers.

Through their dedication to the game and their commitment to developing young players Boyle and Flanigan have made a lasting impact on the lives of those they have coached.
