Upcoming games
The Mt Lebanon varsity basketball team has a home conference game against Bethel Park (PA) on Tuesday, January 28 @ 7p.
On Friday, January 31, they will travel to Upper St. Clair (PA) to take on the Panthers in a conference battle. The game is set to tip off at 7:00 pm.
The following week, they will host Peters Township (PA) on Tuesday, February 4. The game is scheduled to start at 7:00 pm.

The Mount Lebanon boys Basketball team is off to a great start this season. They are currently undefeated with a record of 9-0. The team has received a lot of local media coverage and they are quickly becoming one of the top basketball teams in the state.

National media coverage
The Lebanon Valley College men’s basketball team has been receiving some national attention recently. In December, the New York Times featured the team in an article about their unique scoring system, which gives players three points for a shot made outside of the three-point line two points for a shot made inside the Three-Point Line and one point for a free throw
The system was designed by Head Coach Dave Macedo as a way to encourage his players to take more outside shots, which are generally more efficient than inside shots. And it seems to be working: the team is currently averaging over 85 points per game which is one of the highest scoring averages in Division III
The article generated a lot of buzz on social media and since then, the team has been featured on ESPN and CBS Sports They’ve even managed to get some attention from professional basketball players like Lebron James and Steph Curry who both praised the team’s scoring system on Twitter.

Historical perspective
Mt Lebanon has a long and storied history in basketball. The program has produced numerous Division I and professional players, as well as several state championships The team currently competes in the WPIAL AAAA division and is looking to return to the playoffs after a one-year hiatus.
