The 1990s were a tough decade for Nazareth basketball, as the team failed to make it back to the State Tournament But under head coach John Calipari they made a strong comeback in the late 1990s, winning two more state championships and making it to the Elite Eight in 1999.
In recent years Nazareth basketball has continued to be successful, winning another state championship in 2008 and making it to the Sweet Sixteen in 2009. The team is currently coached by Matt Logie, who has continued its tradition of excellence.
The New Millennium
The new millennium brought continued success to theNazareth Basketball Program The team won the state championship in 2000 and 2001, and made it back-to-back appearances in the state championship game in 2002 and 2003. In 2004, the team won its third State Championship in four years.
The team’s success continued into the next decade. In 2010, the team won its fourth state championship The following year, the team made it to the state Championship game again, but lost to eventual champion North Carolina In 2012, Nazareth won its fifth State Championship
The New Nazareth
Nazareth basketball is in a period of transition. The team has seen a lot of success in recent years but the core group of players that led them to that success is starting to move on.
The newNazareth team will be led by a group of young players who will be looking to make their mark on the program. They will have big shoes to fill, but they have the talent and potential to continue Nazareth’s tradition of success.

The New Golden Era
Since Head Coach Andrew Simon took over the program in 2009, the Nazareth Basketball team has been one of the most successful in the state. They have won six conference championships and four State Championships including three in a row from 2016 to 2018. The team has also been ranked nationally in various polls.
During this time, the team has produced many talented players who have gone on to play at the collegiate level and beyond. Andrew Simon has been named Coach of the Year multiple times, and Nazareth has become one of the Premier Basketball programs in the country.
The New Powerhouse
Nazareth High School’s basketball team is one of the most successful in Pennsylvania. The team has won four State Championships and numerous conference and district titles. They have produced several Division I college players and several NBA players The team is coached by Sean Sinnett, who has won Coach of the Year honors at both the conference and state levels.
The New Dominance
Since the early 2000s, Nazareth basketball has been a force to be reckoned with. The team has won five State Championships and six conference titles, solidifying their position as one of the top programs in the country. Under the leadership of Head coach John Calipari the team has produced some of the best players in the country, including NBA All-Stars Anthony Davis and Kyrie Irving

The New Age of Nazareth Basketball
The new age of Nazareth Basketball began in the late 1990s. head coach Matt Simon took over the program and instilled a new level of discipline and commitment. His teams were known for their hard work ethic, tenacious defense, and ability to close out games. Coach Simon’s teams made the playoffs in each of his first four seasons, including a trip to the Elite Eight in 2000.
In 2004, Coach Simon stepped down and was replaced by Assistant Coach John Pagliaro. Coach Pagliaro continued the tradition of success, leading the Eagles to four straight trips to the playoffs, including a berth in the state Championship game in 2007.
Since then, Nazareth Basketball has been one of the most successful programs in Pennsylvania. The Eagles have won six straight district titles and have made nine straight trips to the playoffs. In addition, Nazareth has been ranked among the top 25 teams in Pennsylvania for each of the past nine seasons.
The Future of Nazareth Basketball
Nazareth College’s Basketball Program has a long and successful history. The team has won multiple conference championships and has made several appearances in the NCAA Division III Men’s Basketball Tournament The team is currently coached by Mark Brown, who is in his sixth season at the helm. Brown has led the team to two conference championships and one NCAA appearance.
The future of Nazareth basketball looks bright. The team has a strong core of returning players, led by senior forward Will Eannarino. Eannarino was named the 2018-19 Empire 8 Conference Player of the Year and is a two-time All-American. He will be joined by fellow seniors Manny Gutierrez, Kevin Burton, and Matt McCarthy. These four seniors have been key contributors to the team’s success over the past few years and will look to continue that success in their final season at Nazareth.
The team also has a talented group of young players who will be looking to make an impact. Sophomores Elijah Ayers and Joe Edmondson both saw significant playing time as freshmen and will be expected to take on larger roles this season. Freshmen Charlie Richards and Matt apparition could see significant minutes as well.
With a strong group of returners and an promising group of young players the future of Nazareth basketball looks bright. The team will look to build on their recent success and compete for another conference championship and NCAA tournament appearance in 2019-20.
