2021 NC State Basketball Recruits

The 2021 NC State Basketball Recruiting class is shaping up to be one of the best in recent years

Headlining the class is 5-star point guard Jaden Springer who is ranked as the No. 9 overall recruit in the nation by 247Sports. Springer is a 6-foot-4 playmaker from Tennessee who has drawn comparisons to fellow Tennessean and current NBA Star Russell Westbrook

Springer is joined in the class by another 5-star recruit, small forwardano_moore Trey Dean III. Dean is ranked as the No 19 overall recruit by 247Sports and is a 6-foot-9 athlete from Georgia. He has good shooting range and is considered one of the best defenders in the country.

Rounding out the class are four-star recruits D’Marco Dunn (guard) and Greg Gantt (forward). Both Dunn and Gantt are high scoring players who can shoot from anywhere on the court. Dunn is a 6-foot-4 guard from North Carolina while Gantt is a 6-foot-7 forward from South Carolina

5-Star Recruits for 2021

NC State Basketball is on the recruiting trail for the 2021 class. The Wolfpack have their sights set on some of the top talent in the country. Here are five-star recruits that NC State is targeting for the 2021 class.

Jalen Suggs is a 6-foot-5 point guard from Minneapolis, Minnesota. He is rated as the No. 1 player in the Class of 2021 by ESPN. Suggs has great size and athleticism for a point guard He is a good shooter and has the ability to take over a game with his scoring.

Cade Cunningham is a 6-foot-8 point forward from Arlington, Texas. He is rated as the No. 2 player in the Class of 2021 by ESPN. Cunningham is a versatile player that can play both forward positions. He is a good shooter and rebounder. Cunningham would be a great addition to any team.

BJ Boston is a 6-foot-7 small forward from Lithonia, Georgia. He is rated as the No. 4 player in the Class of 2021 by ESPN. Boston is an explosive scorer that can score from anywhere on the court. He has good size and athletic ability for a small forward

Jerry Stackhouse Jr. is a 6-foot-6 shooting guard from Franklin, Tennessee. He is rated as the No 5 player in the Class of 2021 by ESPN Stackhouse Jr is the son of former NBA All-Star Jerry Stackhouse Sr.. He has good size and shooting ability for a shooting guard Stackhouse Jr would be an instant impact player on any team’s roster

4-Star Recruits for 2021

NC State is currently recruiting for the 2021 season. They have extended offers to four-star recruits Bryce Coleman, Jaden Bradley and Harrison Ingram These three players are among the top recruits in the country and would be HUGE get for the Wolfpack.

3-Star Recruits for 2021

NC State basketball has landed three recruits for the class of 2021. All three are 3-Star Prospects according to ESPN.

The Wolfpack’s class is headlined by guard D’Marco Dunn, who is rated as the No. 95 player in the country. He chose NC State over offers from Memphis, LSU, and Oregon.

Joining Dunn in the class of 2021 are big man Jamir Moultrie and guard Adrian Delph.

2-Star Recruits for 2021

There are currently no 2-star recruits for the 2021 class.

Unranked Recruits for 2021

Although NC State doesn’t have any ranked recruits for 2021, there are still some talented players that the Wolfpack are targeting. Here are some of the top unranked recruits that NC State is after:

--Devin Askew A 6’3 PG from California, Askew is a gifted scorer and passer who has drawn comparisons to Damian Lillard

--Paolo Banchero A 6’9 PF from Seattle, Banchero is one of the best rebounders in his class and has a versatile skill set that should allow him to play either PF or C at the next level.

--Derek Culver A 6’10 C from West Virginia Culver is a strong, physical post player who is an elite rebounder and shot blocker.

International Recruits for 2021

NC State Basketball has landed two international recruits for the 2021 season.

15-year-old center Iyinoluwa “Iya”Joel Akinyemi, originally from London, England, and 18-year-old Power Forward Xander Rathan-Mayes, from Toronto, Canada, have both committed to playing for the Wolfpack next season.

“Iya and Xander are two of the best players in their age group internationally,” said NC State Head Coach Kevin Keatts “We’re excited to add them to our program and think they’ll make an immediate impact.”

Both Akinyemi and Rathan-Mayes are currently playing High School basketball in the United States Akinyemi attends IMG Academy in Florida, while Rathan-Mayes is at Montverde Academy in Florida.

Transfer Recruits for 2021

In addition to the high school recruits that have verbally committed to playing for the Wolfpack next year, NC State also has a few transfer recruits who will be eligible to play immediately. Here are the three biggest names that will be suiting up for the Pack in 2021:

1. Devin Askew – A former 5-star recruit, Askew was a member of Kentucky’s starting lineup last year before opting to transfer after just one season. He’ll have two years of eligibility remaining and should immediately step into a starting role for NC State.

2. Brandon Johnson – Johnson was a key reserve for North Carolina last season, averaging 4.9 points and 2.5 rebounds per game while shooting 33 percent from three-point range He’ll provide valuable experience and depth at the wing position

3. Jarvis Shelby – Shelby started his career at Louisville before transferring to play at a Community College last season. He’s a 6’3″ guard who can score and is a good defender. He’ll add some much-needed backcourt depth for the Wolfpack.

Walk-On Recruits for 2021

The NC State basketball team has picked up two new recruits for the 2021 season. Both players are walk-ons and will join the team as freshmen.

The first recruit is 6’8″ forward Luke Dornstauder from Canada. Dornstauder played for a AAU team in North Carolina last summer and impressed the NC State Coaching Staff with his athleticism and ability to play above the rim.

The second recruit is 6’2″ guard CJ Laster from Maryland. Laster is a good shooter with a High Basketball IQ. He joins the Wolfpack as a preferred walk-on meaning he will have a spot on the roster but will not be on scholarship.

There has been a lot of speculation surrounding who the NC State Basketball team will be recruiting for the 2021 class. The Wolfpack currently has one commit in the class of 2021, shooting guard Jaden Bradley. Here are some of the other names that have been linked to NC State:

-PG Tyrese Maxey One of the Top Players in the country, Maxey is originally from Garland, Texas but attends high school in Oklahoma. He has taken several unofficial visits to NC State and is said to be high on the Wolfpack’s list.

-SG Coleman Compton: A 6’4″ wing from Virginia, Compton is someone that NC State has been recruiting for a while. He took an unofficial visit to Raleigh back in September and has been in touch with the coaching staff ever since.

-SF Josh Green A native of Australia, Green plays his high school ball in Arizona. He is one of the top small forward prospects in the country and has been linked to NC State, among other schools.
