Notably absent from this list is last year’s top defenseman scorer, Erik Karlsson of the Ottawa Senators. Karlsson had a down year in 2017-18 and currently sits outside the top ten with just 13 points.

Suter is having another good season for Minnesota. He leads all Wild defenseman in assists and is second on the team in points. He’s been a steadying force on defense for Minnesota and has help them to a competitive season.

5 Kris Letang (Pittsburgh Penguins): Letang is a Canadian defenseman who has been with Pittsburgh since 2007. He was named tothe First All-Star Team four times and won the Norris Trophy in 2016-17 after leading all defensemen with 51 points (8 goals and 43 assists).
