The Cinderella stories
We all know the stories. A team from a small conference comes out of nowhere to make a deep run in the NCAA tournament They become instant darlings of the college basketball world, and their Cinderella story lives on forever.
This year, there are several teams that have a chance to write their own Cinderella story. Here are a few of them:
The first team on our list is the University of Maryland Baltimore County. UMBC is a 16 seed in the NCAA Tournament and they will be taking on number one seed Virginia in the first round. UMBC is not expected to win, but they have already made history by becoming the first 16 seed to ever win a game in the NCAA tournament
Another team with a chance to make some noise is San Diego State University The Aztecs are a 10 seed, and they will be taking on number seven seed Houston in the first round. San Diego State is led by one of the best players in the country, freshman sensation Jalen McDaniels. If McDaniels can play at his highest level the Aztecs have a chance to pull off an upset.
Finally, we have Loyola University Chicago The Ramblers are an 11 seed, and they will be taking on number six seed Miami in the first round. Loyola is led by one of the best players in the country that you may not have heard of, senior guard Clayton Custer. Custer is an outstanding shooter, and he will need to be at his best if Loyola is going to make a run in this year’s NCAA tournament
