The Coaching Staff

The New Mexico State University Men’s Basketball team is led by Head Coach Chris Jans He is joined by assistant coaches Andrew Lopez, Paul Weir, and Kyle Cooper. The Aggies will look to build on their recent success under Coach Jans and contend for a conference championship this season.

The Conference

The conference the Aggies will be playing in this season is the Western Athletic Conference (WAC). The WAC is made up of 10 teams total, with NMSU being one of them. The other 9 teams in the WAC are:

The Fans

The fans are the most important part of any Basketball team They provide the energy and support that the players need to succeed. The NMSU basketball team is no different. The fans are what make the team special and they will be a big part of the team’s success this season.

The Arena

The Arena is located on the north side of campus and is the home of the New Mexico State University basketball team It was built in 1965 and has a capacity of 12,018. The court surface is made of Maplewood and the arena is owned by the university.

The Rivalries

The Aggies have a long-standing rivalry with the University of New Mexico Lobos The two universities are only separated by an hour drive, which makes for a heated game anytime the two teams face off. The Lobos lead the all-time series 104-68.

The Tradition

The New Mexico State University men’s basketball team has a long and storied tradition. The team has been to the NCAA tournament 33 times, most recently in 2019. They have won the Western Athletic conference tournament 12 times and have been regular season champions 23 times. The team has produced 3 NBA players 4 Olympians and numerous All-Americans. The Aggies have a rich history and are looking to add to it in the upcoming season
