The school’s baseball team has won 3 State Championships in 2001, 2002, and 2004.

The Palo Verde high school Baseball team has a long and storied history. The program has produced some of the best players in the country, and the team has been a perennial powerhouse in the state of Arizona.
The school has had a rivalry with many other high schools over the years, but none more so than with their cross-town rivals, the Phoenix Union High School Wolverines. The two teams have met in the state playoffs numerous times, with Palo Verde coming out on top more often than not.
In recent years another rivals has emerged for Palo Verde in the form of the Desert Vista High School Thunder. The two teams have met in the playoffs several times, with Palo Verde once again coming out on top most of the time.
Regardless of who their rivals are, one thing is certain: when Palo Verde takes the field, they are always are looking to win.

The team’s success was due in large part to its strong pitching staff, which had a combined ERA of 2.59.
