Sagu Men’s Basketball Venues

The Sagu Men’s basketball team will play their home games at the Tyler Street Gymnasium, located at 1701 W. Tyler Street in Nacogdoches, Texas. The team will open their season on November 1st at home against Midwestern State University

The Saguaro Men’s basketball team is a Division I program that competes in the Southland Conference The team is coached by Anthony Mason who is entering his fourth season as head coach The team finished the 18-19 season with a record of 12-17 overall and 5-13 in conference play

Sagu Men’s Basketball has a long and successful history. The team has been to the NAIA National Tournament several times, most recently in 2019. The team has also won conference championships and made it to the semifinals of the NAIA National Tournament

Sagu Men’s Basketball Alumni

The Saguaro Men’s Basketball Alumni list includes former players who have played professionally in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Michael Olowokandi, the first overall pick of the 1998 NBA draft played for the Clippers and Timberwolves. Steve Nash an 8-time NBA All-Star and 2-Ime Nba Most Valuable Player was drafted 15th overall in 1996 and went on to play for the Suns, Mavericks, and Lakers. Boris Diaw, a member of the French national team was selected 21st overall in 2003 and has played for the Hawks, Suns, Bobcats, Hornets, Spurs, Jazz, and Bulls.
