The History of Schaumburg Baseball

Schaumburg Baseball is a semi-professional baseball league based in Schaumburg, Illinois. The league was founded in 1999 by Bruce Kraus, who served as the league’s first president. The league began with four teams and has since expanded to eight teams.

The Schaumburg Flyers were the first team in the league, and they have been its most successful team, winning five league championships. The other teams in the league are the Boomers, Cougars, Dukes, Farmers, Hawks, Jammers, and Tomcats.

The league plays a 90-game regular season schedule from May to August. The playoffs are held in September, and the Championship game is known as the Fall Classic.

The Schaumburg Baseball League

The Schaumburg Baseball League is a semi-Professional Baseball League in Schaumburg, Illinois. The league was founded in 2002 by former minor league baseball player and current league president, Mike Gorman. The league consists of eight teams, all of which are based in the Chicago metropolitan area

Each team in the Schaumburg baseball league plays a 40-game Regular Season schedule, with games typically taking place on Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings at Boomers Stadium in Schaumburg. The top four teams in the standings advance to the playoffs, which take place over the course of two weekends in August.

The Schaumburg Baseball League has seen a number of its players go on to play Professional Baseball including major league baseball (MLB). In 2010, Schaumburg native and Chicago Cubs pitcher Ryan Dempster became the first player from the league to reach MLB when he made his debut with the Cubs.

The Schaumburg Baseball League Rules

In order to provide the best Baseball Experience for all players and to ensure the safety of all participants, the Schaumburg baseball league has established the following rules. All players, coaches, and spectators are expected to adhere to these rules at all times.

-All players must wear uniforms provided by the team. No outside clothing is allowed.
-All players must wear protective gear including helmets, gloves, and pads, while playing.
-All Metal cleats are prohibited. Only rubber cleats are allowed.
-No fighting or roughhousing is allowed. Violators will be ejected from the game and may be subject to further disciplinary action by the league.
-No tobacco products of any kind are allowed on the playing field or in the dugouts. This includes cigarettes, cigars, smokeless tobacco, and e-cigarettes.
-No alcoholic beverages are allowed on league property at any time. This includes before, during, and after games as well as during practice sessions.

These rules are subject to change at any time at the discretion of the Schaumburg Baseball League Board of Directors.

The Schaumburg Baseball Season

Schaumburg baseball offers a competitive and fun environment for all players. We welcome all skill levels to our games and practices. Our goal is to provide an enjoyable experience for all participants.

The Schaumburg baseball season runs from May 1st to August 31st. Practices will be held twice a week, on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Games will be held on Saturday mornings at 9:00am.
