Team records

As of now, the Salukis are (4-1) in the Conference and (9-4)overall. The team’s recent losing streak includes a tough loss to Bradley on Jan. 2, and another against Drake on Jan. 5.

Looking at the schedule, the next big conference game is Jan. 16 against Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. This will be a key game for the Salukis as they currently sit in fourth place in the conference – one spot out of a bye in the Missouri Valley conference tournament A win against SIUE could solidify their chances at a higher seed and a better chance at making it to the NCAA tournament
The Salukis have 10 games left in their regular season schedule, five of which are at home in Carbondale.

Key players

The Southeast Missouri State men’s basketball team doesn’t lack for experience. The Redhawks have five seniors, four juniors and two sophomores on their roster. They’ll need that experience as they try to replace Armon Fletcher, who was the leading scorer and rebounder last season.

One of the Key Players will be forward Denzel Mahoney, a 6-foot-5 senior from Chicago who averaged nearly 17 points a game last season. He’ll be counted on to provide some scoring punch.

Another player to watch is guard Isaiah Gable, a 6-foot-4 junior from Sikeston, Missouri. He averaged nearly 11 points a game last season and is one of the team’s best 3-point shooters.

The Redhawks will also be counting on guards Ty House and Alex Caldwell to provide some scoring. House is a 6-foot-1 senior from St. Louis and Caldwell is a 6-foot-2 junior from Nashville, Tennessee.

Conference standings

The purpose of the Conference Standings is to give an overview of how each team in the conference is doing in comparison to the other teams. This will help you understand what teams are leading the conference, and what teams are struggling. The conference standings will also help you predict which teams will make it to the postseason tournament, and which teams will not.

RPI

Rating Percentage Index (RPI) is a measure of Strength of Schedule and how a team’s opponents have fared. It is one of the tools used by the NCAA Selection Committee to choose at-large teams and seed all teams for the NCAA Tournament

NCAA tournament chances

As the conference tournament approaches, Missouri State’s Basketball team is looking to secure their spot in the NCAA tournament The Bears have a strong chance of making the tournament, but their seeding will be determined by how they perform in the Conference Tournament

The Missouri Valley Conference tournament will be held from March 5-8 in St. Louis,MO. The Bears are currently the No. 2 seed in the conference and will have a bye in the first round. They will play their first game on Friday, March 6 at 8:30 p.m. CT against either No. 7 seed Loyola or No. 10 seed Bradley.

The Bears have had a strong season so far, with a 23-7 overall record and a 14-4 record in conference play They are currently ranked No. 24 in the AP poll and No. 25 in the Coaches Poll If they can win the conference tournament they will likely receive a high seed in the NCAA tournament

Schedule analysis

The SEMO Basketball Schedule was released on Wednesday and there are some things fans need to know.

The Redhawks will play a total of 29 games this season, including 16 at the Show Me Center.

SEMO will open the season with four straight home games against Maryville (Nov. 10), Lincoln (Nov. 12), Hannibal-LaGrange (Nov. 17) and Fontbonne (Nov. 19).

The Redhawks will then hit the road for three straight games, starting with a trip to Southeast Missouri State rival Murray State on Nov. 26. SEMO will also play at Austin Peay (Dec. 3) and Ole Miss (Dec. 7) during its three-game road swing.

Predictions

In spite of their resounding victory against Albany on December 21, the Southeast Missouri State University men’s basketball team has had a rocky start to the season. They currently sit at 7-6 overall and 0-1 in conference play

Their first conference game was a 71-64 loss to Murray State on December 30. The game was neck-and-neck throughout, with the lead changing hands 11 times. Ultimately, Murray State’s experience showed, as they made key Free throws down the stretch to seal the win.

SEMO’s next game is January 4 at home against UT Martin. The Skyhawks are 4-9 overall and 0-1 in conference play, so this is a crucial game for both teams. Based on the way both teams have played so far this season, I predict that SEMO will win by a slim margin, 65-62.
