2019 South Dakota State Baseball Schedule

The 2019 South Dakota State baseball schedule will consist of 28 games, beginning with a four-game homestand against Oral Roberts from Feb. 15-17. The Jackrabbits will play their first 14 games of the season at Erv Huether Field at Oswald Park before opening up Summit League play on the road against Western Illinois on March 29-31.

They were led by Head Coach Rich Masi, in his fourth season at South Dakota State

The Jackrabbits finished the season 21–32 overall and 10–12 in Summit League play to finish in fourth place. They qualified for the 2019 Summit League Baseball Tournament as the four seed. In the tournament, they defeated Oral Roberts in the Opening Round before losing to Omaha in the semifinals.

6’5″, 190-pound right-handed pitcher/first baseman Bailey Schultz from Yankton, S.D., who was named the Gatorade South Dakota baseball player of the Year as a senior at Yankton High School Schultz helped lead the Bucks to their first ever state championship in 2018 with a perfect 12-0 record on the mound with a 0.77 ERA and 124 strikeouts in 65 innings pitched He also hit .333 with four home runs and 23 RBI at the plate.
