They have won 27 district championships, 19 league championships, and 13 State Championships The team has also been named National Champions three times. In addition to their on-court success, the team has also been lauded for their sportsmanship and character.

The Tyrone Girls Basketball Program has a long and storied history of success. The team has won numerous conference and state championships and has produced some of the most talented players in the country. The Coaching Staff
The Tyrone Girls Basketball Program has been one of the most successful in the state of Pennsylvania over the last twenty years. The team has won six State Championships and has been to the finals twelve times. The key to their success has been the Coaching Staff
Head coach Chuck Knox has been with the team for fifteen years and has won five State Championships He is a Tyrone native and played basketball for Tyrone Area high school before going on to play at Penn State University His assistant coaches are Allie Wagner and Tara Painter. Both have been with the team for ten years and have won three State Championships each.
The coaching staff has instilled a winning culture in the program and has developed a system that has produced results year after year. They have created an environment where hard work and dedication are rewarded with success on the court. The Players
The Tyrone Girls’ basketball team has seen a lot of success over the years. Currently, the team is ranked 4th in the state and is looking to add another state championship to their legacy. The team is led by a core group of talented seniors who have been playing together since they were freshmen. Here’s a closer look at the players who make up this year’s team:
-Makenna Lawhead: Makenna is a 5’11” guard/forward who is one of the top scoring threats in the state. She is averaging 21 points per game and is also a very good rebounder, averaging 8 per game. Makenna has committed to play basketball at Indiana University next year.
-Ava Carmichael: Ava is a 5’9” guard who is an excellent shooter and defender. She is averaging 14 points per game and is one of the team’s best three-point shooters. Ava has committed to play basketball at Penn State University next year.
-Josie Grube: Josie is a 5’7” guard who does a little bit of everything for the team. She is averaging 9 points per game but her biggest contribution comes on the defensive end, where she routinely shuts down the opposing team’s best player.
-Morgan Kelley: Morgan is a 6’1” forward who provides a physical presence in the post. She is averaging 6 points and 6 rebounds per game
-Gabby Harris: Gabby is a 5’5” guard who doesn’t score many points, but she does a great job of running the offense and setting her teammates up for success. She averages 4 assists per game

Season Highlights
The Tyrone Golden Eagles girls basketball team is coming off another successful season The team finished the year with a 21-5 record and made it to the semifinals of the District 6 Class 4A playoffs.
This marks the fourth straight year that Tyrone has reached the semifinals, and the sixth time in seven years. The team has won at least 20 games in five of those seven seasons.
Tyrone’s success is due in large part to the play of its senior class, which includes four-year starter Briana Brumbaugh. Brumbaugh, who will continue her career at Duquesne University, is Tyrone’s All-time leading scorer with 1,917 points.
She is joined by classmates Kailyn Bauer, Abbey Knisely and Jazzlyn Arkwright, who have all been key contributors to Tyrone’s success over the past four years.

In recent years the Tyrone girl’s basketball team has maintained a level of excellence that is unparalleled in the state of Pennsylvania. Since 2013, the team has won four straight District 6 championships and three consecutive PIAA state titles. The Lady Eagles have also been ranked in the top 25 nationally by USA Today
