UNC Basketball Announces 2023 Recruiting Class

Today, UNC basketball announced their 2023 recruiting class The class is headlined by point guard

This class marks the second consecutive year that UNC has landed a top-10 recruiting class according to ESPN.

UNC’s 2023 recruiting class

The University of North Carolina’s 2023 recruiting class was announced today and it includes some big names. Headlining the class is 5-star point guard John Wall who is ranked as the No. 1 player in the country by ESPN. Wall is joined by fellow 5-star prospect Harrison Barnes who is ranked No. 2 overall. The Tar Heels also landed 4-star center Tyler Zeller and 4-star Power Forward John Henson in what is shaping up to be one of the best recruiting classes in recent memory.

UNC men’s basketball announced its 2023 recruiting class on Tuesday, which consists of five-star Small Forward Cliff Alexander, four-star shooting guard Sindarius Thornwell, and four-star point guard Montez Mathieu.

Alexander is a 6-foot-7, 225-pounder from Chicago, Illinois who is ranked as the No. 2 small forward and the No. 9 overall player in the country by 247Sports Composite. He joins UNC’s 2023 class as a McDonald’s All-American and a USA Basketball gold medalist.

Thornwell is a 6-foot-5, 205-pounder from Lancaster, South Carolina who is ranked as the No. 3 shooting guard and the No. 29 overall player in the country by 247Sports Composite. He was also a McDonald’s All-American and a member of USA Basketball’s gold medal winning team

Mathieu is a 6-foot, 170-pounder from Baton Rouge Louisiana who is ranked as the No. 9 point guard and the No. 100 overall player in the country by 247Sports Composite.
