The University of Michigan Hockey Team has a long and storied history, dating back to the early days of the sport. The Wolverines have won nine National Championships the most of any school, and have produced many of the game’s greatest players

The current team is no slouch either, as they are currently ranked third in the nation. The Wolverines have a number of Key Players including junior forward Tyler Motte and sophomore defenseman Zach Werenski.

Highlights

-Michigan vs. Michigan State (February 10th)- This will be the first time these in-state rivals have met since 2016, when then-#1 Michigan defeated the Spartans 3-0 en route to their NCAA National Championship
-Michigan vs. Notre Dame (February 17th and 18th)- The Fighting Irish come to Yost for a huge two-game set, as both teams vie for position near the top of the standings. Notre Dame is currently ranked #5 in the nation.
-Michigan at Penn State (March 3rd and 4th)- The Wolverines travel to Happy Valley to take on the Nittany Lions in what should be two very intense games. Both of these teams are near the top of the Big Ten standings and will be looking to improve their position heading into the postseason.

The Michigan Wolverines men’s Ice Hockey team is composed of student athletes who attend the University of Michigan. The team is a member of the Big Ten Conference and competes in Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). The Wolverines have won nine NCAA Division I championships, seven conference championships and have had 27 All-Americans. As of 2019, Michigan has produced291 NHL alumni, 14 Hobey Baker Award winners, and four Olympians.
