The UTBRGV Basketball Schedule has been announced and there are some key games that fans will want to mark on their calendars. Here is a look at what you need to know about the schedule.
The UTBRGV basketball schedule has been announced and there are some key games that fans will want to mark on their calendars. The season opens on November 5th with a Home game against St. Mary’s University. This will be followed by a road game against the University of Texas at San Antonio on November 8th. The team will then have a string of home games including match-ups against Oral Roberts University Grand Canyon University and Seattle University Some of the other key games on the schedule include a road game against New Mexico State University on December 30th, and home games against conference rivals such as UTEP and UTSA.

The 2019-20 UTBRGV Basketball Schedule
The 2019-20 UTBRGV Basketball Schedule has been released and there are some big games coming up. Here’s what you need to know.
The UT Brownsville and Texas Southmost College men’s basketball team will open their 2019-20 campaign at home on Tuesday, November 5th against nationally ranked opponent LSU-Shreveport. The Pilots are coming off a disappointing 18-19 season in which they went 13-16 overall and 5-11 in conference play but they have a new Head Coach in former NBA player Michael Harrison and are looking to make a fresh start this season.
Some other key games on the schedule include a December 21st matchup at home against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi who the Pilots beat twice last season, and a January 4th road game against conference foe UTPA. The Pilots will also host two exhibitions this season, on October 26th against Our Lady of the Lake University and November 1st against Laredo Community College

Home Games
The University of Texas at Brownsville men’s Basketball team will play their first four games of the season at home. The home games are as follows:

Away Games
The University of Texas at Brownsville men’s and women’s basketball teams tip off their seasons on the road with a pair of games in Laredo.
The men’s team opens its season against Texas A&M International on Nov. 1 at 4 p.m., while the women take on St. Mary’s at 6 p.m.
Both the men’s and women’s teams are in action again on Nov. 2, as the UTB men take on Laredo Community College at 4 p.m., followed by the UTB women against Our Lady of the Lake University at 6 p.m.
Conference Games
The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros will open the 2019-20 regular season by hosting the Eastern New Mexico Greyhounds on Tuesday, November 5th at 7:00 p.m. in the UTRGV Fieldhouse. The game will be the first ever matchup between the two programs and will be part of a doubleheader with the UTRGV women’s team, who will take on Angelo State at 5:00 p.m.
The Vaqueros will then travel to take on conference foe Houston Baptist on Saturday, November 9th at 4:30 p.m. The game will be the first ever meeting between the two programs and will be part of a doubleheader with the HBU women’s team, who will take on Prairie View A&M at 2:00 p.m.
UTRGV’s next home game will be against Texas Southern on Tuesday, November 12th at 7:00 p.m. The meeting will be the first ever between the two programs and will once again be part of a doubleheader with the UTRGV women’s team, who will play their second game of the season against UTSA at 5:00 p.m.
Non-Conference Games
The University of Texas at Brownsville hopes to make a splash in their first season in Division I Basketball The men’s team will compete as an independent, while the women will play in the Western Athletic Conference Here is a look at the non-conference games for both teams.
The men’s team will face some stiff competition early on, with games against Oklahoma State TCU, and SMU. They will also travel to Puerto Rico for a tournament that includes powerhouses like Kentucky and Michigan State The women’s team will also have some tough games early on, with road contests against Oklahoma and Texas Tech But they’ll get a chance to build some momentum with home games against UTEP and New Mexico State
Both teams will have their work cut out for them in the non-conference portion of their schedule, but they’ll be looking to make some noise when conference play starts. Be sure to catch all the action this season!
Exhibition Games
The University of Texas at Brownsville will host two exhibition games this season. The first game will be against Our Lady of the Lake University on November 1st at 7:00 p.m. The second game will be against St. Edward’s University on November 5th at 7:00 p.m.
Both games are free and open to the public.
TV Games
The University of Texas at Brownsville and Texas Southmost College men’s and women’s Basketball teams will appear on television a combined 13 times during the 2019-20 season
The Vaqueros will make their first appearance on Dec. 3 when the men’s team takes on Paul Quinn College in Dallas at 2 p.m. The game will be televised on ESPNU.
The UTB/TSC women’s team will make its television debut on Jan. 9 when it travels to Atlanta to take on Morehouse College at 5:30 p.m. The game will be televised on ESPNU.

Radio Games
The University of Texas at Brownsville will broadcast all of its Home Games this season on KVLY Radio 1220AM and 104.9FM.
All games will start at 7:30 p.m.
KVLY is the only radio station in the Rio Grande Valley that will broadcast UTB basketball games
Game Times
The University of Texas at Brownsville and Texas Southmost College men’s and women’s Basketball Teams will open their seasons with a doubleheader on Tuesday, Nov. 5, in the Dustdevil Gym.
