Valpo Basketball Releases Their Schedule
The Valparaiso University men’s Basketball team has announced their schedule for the upcoming season The Crusaders will play their first game on Tuesday, November 6th against Butler at the Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana. The game is set to tip-off at 7:00 p.m. and will be televised on FS1.
This will be the first meeting between the two programs since December of 2015, when the Bulldogs defeated the Crusaders 83-78 at Hinkle Fieldhouse. Butler leads the all-time series between the two schools 40-37, but Valpo has won four of the last five games played between the two programs.
The Crusaders will play a total of 30 games this season, 15 of which will be played at home in the Athletics-Recreation Center The home opener for Valpo will take place on Saturday, November 10th against Green Bay with tip-off set for 7:00 p.m.
The Season Ahead
The Valparaiso University men’s basketball team will open their season at home on Tuesday, November 5th against Bethel College. The game will start at 7 p.m. EST and will be broadcast on ESPN+.
The Crusaders will have their first Horizon League action on Saturday, December 14th when they travel to take on Wright State The game is set to tip off at 4 p.m. and will also be broadcast on ESPN+.
Valpo’s final non-conference game will be on Tuesday, December 17th when they host Lake Forest College. The contest is set for a 7 p.m. start time and will be available on ESPN3.
The Crusaders are scheduled to play 20 Horizon League games this season, 10 of which will be played at the ARC in Valparaiso, Indiana.

The Valparaiso University Basketball team has finally released their schedule for the upcoming season After an up and down year, the team is looking to prove themselves against some of the best teams in the country. Here are some of the key games that they will be playing:
-Nov. 5: vs. Green Bay
This will be the home opener for the Crusaders and it will be a tough test against a Green Bay team that made it to the NCAA tournament last year.
-Nov. 30: vs. Indiana
This will be a chance for Valpo to get revenge against Indiana, who beat them handedly last year.
-Dec. 21: vs. Marquette
Marquette is always a tough team and this will be a good early season test for the Crusaders.
-Jan. 4: vs. Butler
Butler is one of Valpo’s biggest rivals and this game is always circled on the calendar by both teams’ fans.
As you can see, the schedule is packed with tough games for the Crusaders. They will have their work cut out for them if they want to have a successful season
Home Games
The Valparaiso University men’s basketball team officially released their schedule today for the upcoming season Head Coach Matt Lottich and the Crusaders will play a total of 17 home games inside the comfortable confines of the ARC. Non-conference foes include Green Bay, Iowa, Belmont, Princeton, and Hofstra.
Valpo will host Green Bay on Tuesday, November 5th to open up the home portion of their schedule. The Crusaders and Phoenix will square off for the 145th time in program history, with tipoff set for 7:00 p.m. Following a four-game road swing which takes the Brown and Gold to Rutgers (Nov. 10), IUPUI (Nov. 16), Saint Louis (Nov. 23), and Iowa (Nov. 29), Valpo will return home to face Belmont on Tuesday, December 3rd at 7:00 p.m., then take onPrinceton three nights later on Friday, December 6th at 8:00 p.m., as part of a doubleheader with the Valpo women’s team who will welcome Butler to campus that evening.
Hofstra comes to town next on Tuesday, December 10th at 7:00 p.m., completing a stretch of five straight home games to open the season inside the ARC for Valpo.
Away Games
The release of the Valparaiso University men’s Basketball Schedule was announced, and they will have 23 home games and 18 away games. The Crusaders will open the season on Tuesday, Nov. 5 at Lewis before hosting their home opener on Sunday, Nov. 10 against Bethel.
Valpo’s opening game of the 2019-20 campaign will come on the road against an in-state foe, as the Crusaders travel to Lewis on Tuesday, Nov. 5. The trip to Romeoville will mark the first meeting between the two programs sincebrighting them into Chicago for a game on Wednesday, Dec. 5 as a part of Horizon League play.
From there, Valpo will turn its attention to its home opener and host Bethel on Sunday, Nov. 10 at 3 p.m. The game against the Pilots will be part of a doubleheader with the Crusader women’s team at Portage High School’s Fieldhouse as both teams await completion of the W Alumni Gymnasium renovation project back on campus..

The Coaches
The Valparaiso University men’s basketball team will welcome back a large group of experienced and talented players for the 2019-2020 campaign. head coach Matt Lottich will look to lead the Crusaders back to the NCAA tournament for the second time in three years and perhaps even further with a roster featuring 11 returnees and four newcomers.

Valpo will open up its 24th season of Horizon League play on Saturday, Dec. 29, as the Crusaders travel to Illinois to face Loyola. The Ramblers then come to the ARC for a New Year’s Eve tilt on Tuesday, Jan. 1. That contest against Loyola begins a five-game homestand for Valpo which continues with league games against Detroit (Jan. 5), UIC (Jan. 10), Wright State (Jan. 12) and Northern Kentucky (Jan. 17).
