The History of Westchester Baseball
Westchester baseball has a long and storied history. The game was first introduced to the area in the late 1800s, and quickly became a popular pastime for both children and adults. Westchester teams dominated the early years of organized baseball, winning numerous championships. In fact, the first ever World Series was played between two Westchester teams – the New York Giants and the Brooklyn Dodgers
Westchester baseball continued to thrive throughout the early 20th century. Many of baseball’s greatest players such as Babe Ruth Mickey Mantle and Yogi Berra all began their careers playing in Westchester. Unfortunately, the Baseball War of 1961-62 led to the temporary suspension of organized baseball in Westchester. However, the game made a triumphant return in 1963, and has been going strong ever since.
The Different Types of Westchester Baseball
There are four different types of Westchester Baseball Teams each with their own unique benefits:
--Major League The Yankees, Mets, and Dodgers all call Westchester home. If you’re looking for the highest level of play, these are the teams for you. They have the biggest budgets and the best players, and their games are always exciting.
--minor league The Rockland Boulders and the Somerset Patriots are two of the most successful Minor League teams in recent years They offer a lower level of competition than the Major League teams, but they’re still very fun to watch. And, of course, tickets are usually cheaper.
-Independent: The Hudson Valley Renegades and the Long Island Ducks are two of the best independent teams in the area. These teams are not affiliated with any Major League team, so they’re a great option if you’re looking for something a little bit different.
-College: There are several college baseball teams in Westchester, including Fordham, Iona, and Manhattan. These teams offer a great opportunity to see some future stars in action.
The Rules of Westchester Baseball
Westchester baseball is a bit different than the standard game. Here are the basic rules:
-Each game is seven innings long.
-A team must have nine players on the field at all times.
-Batted balls that land past the outfield fence are automatically home runs
-There is a mercy rule in place, meaning that if one team is ahead by 10 or more runs at the end of the seventh inning the game is over.
-Teams can score runs by either Hitting the ball over the fence or by having their baserunners advance around the bases and cross home plate

The Training and Conditioning Required for Westchester Baseball
The training and conditioning required for Westchester Baseball are intense. The players go through a rigorous off-season program that includes weightlifting, cardio work, and agility drills. They also spend countless hours in the batting cages and on the field practicing their craft.

The Different Levels of Westchester Baseball
The Westchester Baseball Organization is divided into different levels, each with its own set of rules and regulations. Depending on the level of play, teams may be limited to a certain Number of players have a restricted number of games, and use smaller fields.
The different levels of Westchester Baseball are:
-T-Ball: For players aged 5-6, this is the introductory level of play. Games are typically 3 innings long, and players hit off a tee.
-Rookies: For players aged 7-8, this is the first level of competitive play Games are typically 6 innings long, and players use a Pitching Machine
-Minors: For players aged 9-10, this is the second level of competitive play. Games are typically 9 innings long, and players use live pitching.
-Majors: For players aged 11-12, this is the third level of competitive play. Games are typically 9 innings long, andplayers use live pitching.
