What the Schedule Means for the Team
The 18-19 season will mark the capstone of Jeff Blashill’s tenure as Head Coach at Western Michigan The team is coming off a down year in which they failed to make the NCAA tournament and lost in the first round of the NCHC tournament. They will be looking to redeem themselves this season and return to the top of the conference. Here is a look at their schedule and what it means for the team.
The Broncos will open their season at home against Ohio State on October 6th. This will be their only meeting of the season with the Buckeyes. They will then hit the road for a two-game series against Minnesota-Duluth, who they defeated in last year’s NCHC tournament. The Bulldogs are always a tough opponent, but WMU should be able to handle them if they want to contend for the conference title
The following week, the Broncos will host Notre Dame for a two-game series. The Fighting Irish are always a tough opponent, but WMU has had success against them in recent years This will be a good early test for the team.
After that, WMU will have a few weeks off before returning to action against Bowling Green on November 9th. The Falcons are always a tough opponent, but WMU should be able to handle them if they want to contend for the conference title
After that, WMU will have another break before resuming their Conference Schedule against North Dakota on November 30th. The Fighting Hawks are always a tough opponent, but WMU has had success against them in recent years This will be a good early test for the team.
Looking at their schedule, it appears that WMU has a favorable schedule this season. They should be able to make some noise in the conference and return to the NCAA Tournament this year.
How the Schedule Will Impact the Fans
The schedule release for the upcoming season has Western Michigan hockey fans both excited and also wondering how the team will do. The schedule includes some tough opponents, but also some teams that the Broncos have had success against in the past. Overall, it looks to be a challenging but manageable season for the team.
One of the things that fans will notice is that there are more home games than away games. This is always a positive for the team, as they tend to play better in front of their home crowd Additionally, it makes it more convenient and affordable for fans to attend games. Another thing to note is that there are several conference games early on in the season. This is important because these are the games that will ultimately decide whether or not Western Michigan hockey makes it to the NCAA tournament
Overall, fans should be excited for the upcoming season The schedule looks challenging but manageable, and there are plenty of opportunities to see the team play at home.
The pros and cons of the Schedule
With the release of the schedule, many are wondering what it means for the team. While some may see it as an opportunity to represent their school and community, others may feel like the pressure is too high.
Some pros of the schedule include that it is full of big games that will be played in front of a lot of people. This gives the team a chance to show off their skills and make a name for themselves. Additionally, many of the games are against tough competition, which will only make the team better in the long run.
On the other hand, some may see the schedule as too difficult. Many of the games are against teams that are widely considered to be better than Western Michigan This could lead to a lot of losses, which could be discouraging for both players and fans alike.
At the end of the day, it is up to each individual to decide how they feel about the schedule. There are pros and cons to every situation, but it is important to remember that no matter what happens, Western Michigan Hockey will always have a loyal fan base behind them.
