The 2018 season in review

Yale’s Baseball team had a historic 2018 season, finishing with a program- record 34 wins and capturing its first-ever Ivy League championship. The Bulldogs also made their first appearance in the NCAA tournament since 2008, defeating Holy Cross in the Opening Round before falling to Florida in the regional semifinals.

Here’s a look at some of the Key Players who helped Yale achieve those accomplishments and who will be looking to build on them this spring:

IF/OF Conrad Gregor ’19
The Ivy League Player of the Year and a Louisville Slugger First Team All-American, Gregor was one of the most feared hitters in college baseball last season. He led the Bulldogs with a .349 batting average 12 home runs and 52 RBIs, and also paced the team with a . 457 on-base percentage and a .583 Slugging percentage Gregor has been named a preseason All-American by D1Baseball.com and perfect game USA, and he is on the Golden Spikes Award watch list.

RHP Scott Politz ’19
Politz was one of Yale’s most reliable starters last season, going 7-2 with a 3.51 ERA in 14 appearances (13 starts). The right-hander struck out 80 batters in 86 innings pitched, and he allowed just two earned runs over his final 27 innings of work. He was named second team All-Ivy and third team All-New England.

2019 season outlook
