It’s no surprise that the Stanley Cup champions Vancouver Canucks are once again at the top of the NHL standings. They’ve been dominating the league since the 2010-2011 season. The Tampa Bay Lightning Pittsburgh Penguins and Washington Capitals round out the top four spots.

The Lightning have been consistently good this season, while the Capitals have been faltering as of late. The Penguins, on the other hand, have been consistently mediocre. As of right now, it looks like any of these teams could make a run for the Stanley Cup

The New York Rangers and Philadelphia Flyers are currently leading the pack in the Eastern Conference The Rangers have been on a hot streak lately, winning eight of their last ten games. The Flyers have been steadily good all season long

The Chicago Blackhawks are currently sitting in last place in the Central Division They’ve had a rough season, but they’re still only a few points out of a playoff spot. It’s anyone’s guess as to whether or not they’ll make a comeback.

In the Western Conference the Vancouver Canucks are once again at the top of the standings. They’re followed by the San Jose Sharks Los Angeles Kings and Phoenix Coyotes. These four teams are all looking like they could make a deep run in the playoffs.

As the 2011 NHL season comes to a close, three teams have emerged as the top contenders for the Stanley Cup

The Boston Bruins are currently in first place in the Eastern Conference with 109 points. They are followed closely by the Tampa Bay Lightning who have 108 points. The Philadelphia Flyers round out the top three with 103 points.

In the Western Conference the Detroit Red Wings are in first place with 112 points. They are followed by the Nashville Predators with 101 points and the Vancouver Canucks with 100 points.

As of April 7th, the bottom three teams in the NHL standings are the Columbus Blue Jackets the New York Islanders and the Edmonton Oilers These three teams have played poorly all season and will most likely not make the playoffs.

The Blue Jackets have had a poor season, finishing with a record of 29-46-7. They have been plagued by injuries and poor goaltending all year. The Islanders have also had a disappointing year, finishing with a record of 30-39-13. They have struggled to score goals all season and their defense has been porous at times. The Oilers have had a terrible season, finishing with a record of 27-47-8. They have been one of the worst teams in the league all year and their fans are getting impatient with their lack of success.

All three of these teams will miss the playoffs this year and will be looking to improve next season.

In the West, the Stars have been one of the most surprise teams this season and look like they could be a legitimate contender for the Stanley Cup The Predators and Red Wings are both having strong seasons as well and should be in contention for a playoff spot.

The 2011 NHL Standings: A Final Update

The end of the 2010-2011 NHL season is finally upon us, and though the playoffs have been set for some time now, the final seeding is still very much in flux. As of the morning of April 10th, just two points separate the Chicago Blackhawks and the Anaheim Ducks for the top spot in the Western Conference meaning that the race for home-ice advantage throughout the playoffs is still wide open. In the East, things are a bit more settled, with the Philadelphia Flyers having clinched first place weeks ago. Nevertheless, with only a few days left in the regular season there are still a few things left to be decided.

As we can see, the Vancouver Canucks were on top of the standings with a very comfortable lead over the rest of the teams. The St. Louis Blues had a very good season as well and managed to take second place in the standings. The Philadelphia Flyers had a good season too and rounded out the top three teams in the standings. The Boston Bruins and Detroit Red Wings both had good seasons and managed to take fourth and fifth place in the standings, respectively.

The 2011 NHL Standings are in, and there are some interesting things to note. Overall, it was a very even season with not much separating the teams. The Stanley Cup playoffs were very competitive, with many close games and upsets. Here is a look at the final standings and what we can learn from them.

There are a few things we can learn from these standings. First, it was a very even season overall with not much separating the teams. Second, home ice advantage was important as all of the top seeds in each conference made it to at least the semifinal round of the playoffs. Lastly, it was a very tough year to be a lower seed as there were no significant upsets in either conference during playoff time.
